Taking pills with food?

I'm a little confused about when I have to take medicine with food. Should I take the pills first and then eat, or the other way around?

If the pill is a must, I would get it down first then eat.

I don't think it really matters.. Unless drinking and eating makes you sick. A sip of water and a pill wont hurt you.. But if you can before is probably better.

Check to see if you can crush your pills. I bought a high powered pill crusher and will put the powder in apple sauce or pudding or maybe water, but often times u have to eat before you take pills. I believe you should alwyas have your stomach coated before meds.
