Cheated on 2wk pre-op diet

I cheated to day on my pre-op diet....I'm 6 days from surgery, and have done GREAT so far..until today! :( 800 calories a day..5 shakes and 1 Protein bar..that's it! I called myself "substituting"....so I did that twice today...both times with items high in protein and low in calories...Is my doctor going to know?

Please tell me if you had weak moments...and what did you cheat with?

Yes I had weak moments too. There were three or four nights in a row I was so hungry (or my head told me I was). I had low sodium sliced turkey breast and cucumber slices. It was so good!! lol I only had a slice of turkey and 1/4 cucumber each time. You will be fine. I even let my doctor know and he wasn't upset.

There are so many variations to the LRD some may have food, some none, some 3 days of LRD, some 2 wks, etc... Just stick to it as best you can and don't beat yourself up over it. It happened. You can start from this moment again. You are almost there and it is so worth it! Good luck!

Absolutely... you are fine. Just get back on track. GOOD LUCK on your surgery!
