New to this site

Hi: I am planning on having lap band at the end of May/beginning of June. I went on this site today for the first time and I haven't seen too many happy people and now I am beginning to doubt myself. Can anyone with a good experience please write about it so I won't change my mind??? Thanks.....

Welcome! Remember that this is a SUPPORT forum and those who are looking for support/help are often those going through problems, so you're bound to see more questions and concerns rather than people boasting of their success. There is a lapband success sub-forum here; you should check it out. Also look at the before and after pictures. Plenty of people here have been successful and plenty happy with their band. I like to put myself in that group; down 113lbs in 11 months. Size 20 to size 2. No complications at all.

I would also go to verticalsleevetalk.com and see if VSG is an option for you. I wanted the Lap Band for the longest time but have decided the sleeve is a better choice for me.

Hi! I am new to the band this website too. I was banded April 7th and was becoming really doubtful right before my surgery. In my opinion, there are many more GOOD stories than bad ones. I've only had my band for 10 days but personally-it has really helped me lose weight. I have not been "filled yet" but for some reason (whether it is mental or not) I have had restriction. I am on a 2 week liquid diet post-op and so far I have lost 19 pounds and 45 pounds total! A lot of it is willpower but I think that knowing you have a "tool" really helps.
