Initial consulation with Surgeon today!

I went to a lap band seminar last summer and since then have wanted to get banded. I just met with a surgeon today who answered a lot of my questions and gave me a TON of paperwork. I will have to get lots of tests done, including a sleep apnea test. I go into my PCP's office tomorrow and will ask for their approval. I hope that they approve me. I'm kind of nervous as to how that will go. Do many PCP's dissaprove of lap band surgery? Does anybody know?
