referral and cost

I have been lurking for a few days now and am very grateful to this forum. I have decided a lap band procedure would be very beneficial for me. The discussions on the doctors who do this surgery has been important. I know that cost is not the only consideration , but it is important that I find a doctor who is competent and competitive, since I have no insurance.

Although I have not read every thread, there does not seem to be much discussion on the final price of this operation.

It would help me enormously, if I could get a sense of what I can anticipate financially. I have no problem with Mexican doctors. Does anyone have information on doctors in other areas, eg Panama, Costa Rico, etc.
