my symptoms

I have had pain where my band is and am having heartburn everyday. Sometimes there's a strange feeling in my port. My restriction has been absent for months.

I don't get to see my band dr. until 1/12. In the meantime, my regular dr. can give me something for the heartburn.

Reading over the threads it seems like the symptoms match erosion:paranoid :cry

If you have eroded or slipped, what, if any, were your symtoms?

Best not to get worried too early in the game. One thing most of us have is WWS (Worry Wart Syndrome.) So far all my docs and many of my friends' have been prescribed over the counter Prilosec. I'm on it now because my stomach and esophagus are irritated. My doc told me not to miss doses.

Ive never heard of heartburn being a symptom of erosion..slippage maybe. Try not to worry yourself sick until you see the doctor. Over the counter prilosec works great for me then any other otc meds for heartburn.

DeLarla,

I saw your pictures of erosion. Did that band actually go completely through to the inside of your stomach??:) Do they tell you how long it will take to heal?

I'm very sorry this happened. It certainly sounds like you had problems right from the get go. I would be so frustrated with a doctor not calling me back, that is inexcusable. Reminds of car salesman, once they get you to buy the car you can't get any further services out of them!

I hope you are doing well and have a nice holiday despite the problems. :)

i had my lap band placed by the same dr. it has been 4 months today. i lost 40lbs but have hit a plateau. i'm having pain and minor swelling at the port site with redness where my scar is. i have been rubbing the area with vitamin E to stop the flaking of my skin down. does this sound like any of your symtems? i did have redness and swelling of the port about a month after the surgery for about a week.when i went back for my fill at that time of course there was no sign of redness and they said my body was just trying to get used to the foreign object. now with it happening again i'm trying not to worry but i don't want ignore something potentially bad.
