Does anyone know if its safe to color your hair after surgery? I was banded 11.19.10. I only use the semi perm colors, just wondering if it would be ok. I will call stylist tomorrow, but she may not know.

I get highlights every 11 weeks and have had no problem with it. I did lose quite a bit of hair, but that would have happened with or without the highlights.

So did you color? I need to color also but my hair is so dry sense surgery I was banded on 11/17/10. Was wondering what your stylist said.

I constantly dye my hair (the permanent stuff) and have had absolutely no problemos!!!!

My hair stylist said the semi perm colors are fine. She told me to condition this week with a dense conditioner then do it this weekend. Yes, I will do it Saturday. I do it myself. I have dark red hair and it just needs brightening.

I use permanent hair coloring. I remember when my girlfriend was pregnant years ago, her color never came out as intended due to hormonal changes. After baby was born, no problem. I hope a few more people chime in if using permanent hair they've used for a long enough time to know what is 'normal', and if results changed after surgery.

I'm a hairdresser and I wouldn't even worry about it !
