slipped band.....and putting off the fix.....

Hi, my band slipped in June after a year and a half....totally my fault....from throwing up.......I went in to have fluid taken out....it totally eased my reflux......My Dr. said that I need to have surgery to fix it...I wanted to wait....now I have to wait till next year for insurance reasons.....my question is when do I need to be worried that my slippage has become an emergancy....I still have restriction and get stuck occasionally...when this happens I go back on liquids till everything feels ok again....but the last three days I have had a hard time sleeping due to reflux....last night it did not come up, but I could here it, like a burp that never made it out....no pain....finally I was able to go to sleep and was even able to sleep on back and both sides not just the left.....just not sure if this gas or whatever it is needs to be addressed right away....I will be on liquids till it passes, for sure..........thanks for any information......

I think that if you have reflux long term it can cause damage to your esophogus. You should speak with your doctor about this so that you can make a fully informed decision.

Best wishes to you.
