Unfill

Well I'm in a bad mood. I had to go have a bit of an unfill today. Had a bad "incident" last night (details here http://lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=12410) and I've been having SUCH trouble with PB'ing.

So get this..I go to my doc who weighs me. I've lost 6 lbs in the past month. He tells me "I'm not happy with your progress. You were losing 10lbs a month before and now it's only six.....what are you doing wrong?" And kind of chastised me.

I had TOLD HIM that being too tight was driving bad behavior and I guess he had to hand slap me! I was pretty mad. I mean....I'm pretty happy with a six pound weight loss in a month....grrrrrrr.

Aaaaanyhow, the real reason why I'm posting here is that as we talked, he told me his philosophy on fills:

"I'd rather have you be a bit loose and able to eat a little bit too much of healthy foods than be too tight and eat bad (read: mushy) foods".

This came when I said I was unable to eat chicken. He says being a skosh loose but better able to eat "dense" foods was optimal.

Just putting it out there for those looking for how to approach fills.

I am glad you got a bit of an unfill. Now you can heal and eat again.

Karen 6lbs in a month is good and in my book better than good. Take it easy and let your stoma heal..

I agree with bubbamee20022003.

At least you didn't gain weight! :(

Take it easy and continue your journey.

Hmm... that makes a lot of sense. I'm going for an unfill in 2 weeks. I think I'll share that philosophy with my doctor.

Seems crazy for him to be chastizing you for a 6 lb weight loss... The average is SUPPOSED to be 1-2 lbs a week, which puts you squarely in the average. You're doing a great job!

Karen,

Hope you're feeling better. Been there, done that!

I agree with your doc's philosophy on fills, but 6 lbs. not enough? Someone should tell him that 1-2 lbs. a week is just perfect!
