considering lap band

I am seriously considering having lap band surgery. I will be self pay since my insurance wont cover it. My BMI is 29.5. I am considered overweight, and have been battling my weight since i was in my 30s. I have diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and i snore.

Is there anyone in this forum who has had the surgery for the above reasons. And has anyone with a low bmi had the surgery. I would like to hear from you. I know of studies done with diabetics and this surgery, which have been cured from the diabetes, and wonder if this would be good for me.
