I started this process over a month ago..

When I started I was scared and nervous. I wondered if I was making the right decision and what my husband and family members would think.

Now that I've really started researching and getting all the paperwork started I'm really not nervous anymore. I'm excited and I want the band now more than I ever have!

I absolutely can't wait to get the surgery done. Now if my insurance would just hurry up and approve me.

spoilmom what insurance do you have?

I have UHC too, and they said there were basically no requirements for me. I just have to have a bmi over 40. No problem there. I hope they are quick in approving you, spoiltmom! Good luck!

Good luck with getting through the process. It can be frustrating and overwhelming at times.

It took me 18 months to jump through all the hoops and finally get approval and I was so frustrated. But it finally happened.

Now I am 3 months post surgery, 54 pounds down, down from a 2x to a 16, off diabetes meds, blood pressure meds reduced and have joined the gym.

Pre surgery is the time to read and learn and start identifying habits you need to change and get prepared mentally. It is a wild journey and takes a lot of commitment. From the day you make your decision to go forward and the day it happens seems like an eternity, but frrom the day you are banded it speeds up and flys by.

Good luck to you!
