pre op diet questions (dehydration)

I'm on day 10 of my preop diet and I'm so sick to my stomach I can hardly keep anything down including Water. I threw up all lastnight and woke up sick this morning. I forced myself to drink a full glass of water, but I had to sip it slowly because I could just barely keep it down. Not to mention my digestive system is all messed up and not doing what it should be.

My preop diet consists of 2 Protein shakes, (breakfast/lunch) and full Soup (not cream) for dinner. I can also have sugarfree Jello, pudding, yogurt and popsicles. About two days ago I became really sick of the jello, pudding etc. and haven't really been eating them.

I can barely finish my Protein shake this morning, I'm so thirsty, but it just makes me sick to drink. I've mostly been drinking crystal lite, and that's mostly what I threw up lastnight. :)

Did anyone else go through this dehydration? To boot, I twisted my ankle the first week on this diet, and now my ankle is just about healed I've pulled a muscle in my leg from walking funny while my ankle was twisted. These two weeks have been hell!

I was really excited about getting banded next Thurs. but now with the two weeks post op diet ahead of me I'm really just dreading it now :(

Keep up the good work.. remember it is not forever, make a calender and cross the days off. Think of all the weight you are losing while you are doing this. I have not started pre-op yet and not looking forward to it now.. ha ha. x

Stay with it. There is no doubt it is difficult. I to am on the liquid diet and have struggled with dehydration. I drink a lot of powerade zero's and that seems to help me. Remember it doesn't last forever and before long you will be back to being yourself again. I am on my 8 day and there are days that I feel like doing nothing but sleeping. Hang in because you have support here.
