June 26, 201016 yr Please tell me it is not like the pre-op diet. I can stand eating less of foods, but not eating things I like and enjoy sucks. I guess that is why dieting never works.
June 26, 201016 yr I am five weeks post op--this week I pretty much returned to my regular style of eating and feel fine. I am eating everything healthy that I ate before but less of it. Tonight I had tacos for dinner and I didn't have any problem with them. Things might change when I get my first fill--I don't know. My brother is ten months out and he's lost 60 pounds and eats normally, again just less of everything. You will be fine!
June 26, 201016 yr Author Thanks Rocket, that is what I was expecting..... send me a message if you get time. I am getting banded next friday,
June 26, 201016 yr Turney, you'll do just fine. I've always loved food too. I thought I would have a hard time giving up things. but I don't really give much of anything. I just start with my protein (meat) and maybe mashed potatoes and a vegetable like green beans, peas etc. By the time I finish my meat and maybe a few bites of the other, i'm full. I'm 3 1/2 months out and have lost 42 pounds. I've only had one fill so far. I'm not having any trouble with craving other foods. I listen to my stomach not my head. If I can do it, so can you. Good luck!
June 26, 201016 yr I still eat practically everything I did preband except in smaller portions. There are a few things I don't eat any more - donuts, scones and other white flour doughy type things. i haven't even tried - they just don't appeal anymore.
June 26, 201016 yr I am a little over 5 months out and have lost 72 pounds. I only eat things I like. I agree with the others, in the course of adapting to your new way of eating your tastes change. It is so much easier now to eat healthily and much less. You are going to love your band.
