Pain Medications Post Op

Hello!

I have some questions on post op pain medications. I am taking percocet

and side effects are constipation. I tried plain tylenol liquid.... YUK!!!!

and it did nothing. Has anyone tried childrens ibuprofen? Is this safe?

Ibuprofen has always helped me more than tylenol, and does not effect constipation.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I was also told to stick with Tylenol, so I did the childrens liquid suspension and took a dose every 4 hours. I didnt have much pain except for the gas, and Gas-X and walking are all that really help that. As for the constipation, I was spared that, but have heard that adding some metamucil can relieve that and have also seen recommendations for glycerin suppositories. Hope you feel better soon!

Yep, only tylenol.

Try a suppository (glycerin for adults) they really help relieve constipation and are gentle on the system.

Feel better !!!!
