Give me the run down please

Can someone please give me the run down of everything? Basically how do I get the ball running so I can get the lap band? Is it anything like gastric bypass where you have to do a series of dr. visits, meetings, etc? How does one go about getting help in paying for this without insurance? What is the price for this? I have tried looking online...everything gives me different answers. Anyways, ANY information and a point in the right direction would be great. Thank you everyone!

Every surgeon is different and requires different things.

Mine was about the easiest I've heard so far.

I went in for a consult with the surgeon. We agreed I needed the band.

I paid $10,000. (financed through HealthOne)

I had no pre-op testing or classes.

I went on Atkins's diet for a couple weeks.

I had lapband surgery.

I've had a few fills.

I've lost 95 lbs. so far.
