Does the Band restrict fluids

Good Morning everyone:

The title pretty much says it all. I have heard people say how hard it is/was to drink the 64 oz of Water per day. Is this because the band restricts even the flow of water through the band?

As a follow up - is this 64oz difficutly only after restriction?

Thanks for any advise & reply

Hal

The only time fluids have ever been an issue with me is after a praticularlly tight fill. I had to sip and couldnt chug water. I tried drinking some water at a fairly rapid rate and it came back up like a fountain. Other than that, no issue what so ever with fluids.

I have no problem with fluids. Immediately after surgery you have to drink a bit slower but as far as I am aware that's it.

If my pouch is full of food for several hours I have trouble drinking enough. It isn't that the band restricts fluids for me.

Ditto Hummingbird. The only difficulty I have is related to timing of drinking with food. I have to wait 90 minutes after eating to drink---that cuts out a lot of potential drinking hours.

But when I'm "allowed" to drink, I have no trouble at all---no need to sip, or anything like that.
