pre-op diet

I am waiting for a surgery date (maybe they will tell me when they call with the date), but the advocate for the bariatric center and the surgeon himself have never mentioned pre-op diet. Do some doctors ask you to do that and some not? Or, does it depend on your weight?

Some doctors do it and some doctors don't do it. It also does depend on your weight. I would suggest asking your doctor about that one.

I wondered about that too, but I was under the impression that I did not need it because I only needed to lose 75 lbs. The literature said that the reason for the pre-op diet is to shrink the liver. I guess it can get in the way when the put in the band. If they haven't advised you about it, you prob. don't need it. They say the only stupid question is the one not asked, so if you are worried by all means ask!! Hugs!!!!

Saw a few weeks ago someone posted coffee flavored protein shakes that were awesome!! Anyone have any idea what brand they were and where we can find them??
