Labor Contractions with the Lap Band

For those of you who have delivered, did your band have any impact on your contractions? I've had crazy port pain throughout my pregnancy and am wondering if it will continue through my labor? Does the epidural help as far "north" as our port?

thanks!

I am also worried about port pain. I have a pair of jeans that sit right where my port is or something because it hurts when I wear them. Also once a month a do a nail clinic where I am up and down off the floor all day and my port usually really bothers me that day.
