2 week pre op diet - I'm starving!

I have just completed day 5 of my pre op diet and I am STARVING! The only thing that is keeping me going is the fact that I can drink boulion and the fact that I am already down 9 lbs. Today was extremely difficult We went to our local sports bar to watch the Daytona 500. They had a free food spread which consisted of Chili, Bratwurst, Burgers, Chips, Potato Salad and Queso. I wanted so bad to eat something but did not. I feel that part of the pre diet is also to build mental strength. Anyway, off to bed and hoping that tomorrow will be easier. I stll have 10 days until surgery.

I'm supposed to be on my liquid diet for 2 days. Today is my first and it is soooooo hard but I cannot give up! This Friday will by my surgery :-)

Hey....I am in the same boat as you are. My surgery is going to be on the 19th, and I am starving. The only thing that is keeping me from cheating is the fact that my surgeon will let us have the one specific kind of protein shake and bar. It has helped me keep my sanitity. Keep your chin up, and keep on keepin on! lol GOOD LUCK.....YOU CAN DO IT!...

to ALL of you doing your pre-op diets:

hang in there! <3 the band will be your reward for sticking to the diet!

im on day 5 myself. 3 Protein shakes a day and broth if i want it. and of course Water. thats it. talk about tough! the first 2 days were horrible and i was starving but ive dropped 5 pounds already and im not feeling as hungry anymore. its tough to be on this diet and have to be around people eating whatever they want. my hubby has been pretty supportive and is eating his tastiest food in another room so as not to tempt me. i told him its fine to eat around me if its gross food (bologna or something like that...ew. lol i hate bologna.)

im scheduled for surgery on the 25th. i cant wait! boy, do i miss food! im not feeling hungry...i just miss the taste and feel of real food.

It is all SO worth it! The stomach hunger will subside but I think we all deal with HEAD hunger! Hey, it's been 2 years and four months for me and I deal with being a chocoholic every day of my life!!

Sounds like you've got a good handle on it now and just think, by this time next week you'll be starting into your new life--that's the real prize! Congrats on your decision...
