Optifast and blood sugar

I just got approved for my lapband and Dr told me I'd be on Optifast shakes for 2 weeks prior to the surgery. My concern is when I go a few hours without eating my blood sugar drops and I feel crappy! Is this going to be an issue? I'm type 2 and taking oral meds which I'm hoping to be able to stop in the future. Anybody go through this already?

    You should discuss this with your endocronologist (sp?) before hand. They may want to adjust your meds so that you do not go too low. Also, check your blood sugar level 4 to 5 times a day. Best of luck.:cursing:
