Help!!!!!!!!!

I ate about 1.5 hrs ago, and for the last hour I've had TREMENDOUS pain around my port area. I've tryed pain meds, walking (can barely walk), heat, mint tea. It seems to be coming in waves that are almost unbearable. Any ideas?

Call your doctor! If it's after hours, call your insurance nurse line. Most insurance companies have free nurse lines. Did you overeat, or have you had a fill recently? What did you do different today when you ate? Usually, when I read about pain after eating on this site it is from overeating and getting food STUCK. For some people, carbonation is the trick (in small amounts). For others...they wait and let the food work it's way down.

Hang in there. I haven't had food stick yet (no fills), so perhaps someone with more experience could help you more.

Thanks for your reply SuperDaddy. It must have been from overeating or food stuck because after about 2 hrs it started to feel better. My goodness that was so painful, but it was so strange that I felt it by my port not higher. At anyrate I'm better and I will be realllly careful for awhile.

Are you feeling better today? That would happen to me when I drank carbonation, make a list of what you ate so you know to be more careful next time when you eat that, it might be something you have to take out of your diet all together. Hope you're doing better!!

Yep that was my first experience with something getting stuck, and I hope my last. Nacho's were the dreaded deed, and won't be repeating that any time soon. Thanks for the well wishes! i'm still sore today, but taking it real slow.
