Has anyone had one? Do I really need someone to drive me home? I have been having a pain when I eat that has gotten worse lately...feels like I have an abrasion on my esophagus or stoma that feels scraped when I eat or drink...we did the barium swallow test today and thankfully my band looks fine. He gave me Protonix and has me scheduled for the endo next week...has anyone had similar symptoms?

I haven't had those symptoms but if you are going to have an endoscopy yes you need someone to drive you home because of the medications they will give you.

I had an endoscopy last summer and was diagnosed with Barretts Esophagus. You need a ride home and you might feel a little groggy for the rest of the day. I actually had to be unfilled from 6cc to 2cc in a 10cc band and the gastroenterologist had to use a slim line scope. After several weeks I started to be filled again. Good luck with the test and I hope you feel better soon.
