does anyone in the seattle, everett, area have a clothing exchange going on? starting to wear smaller sizes but dont want to buy a whole bunch new stuff! would love to trade and I shrink!

I too feel like a failure, only 15 poumds lost in over 2 months!

completely fine now, unfortunatly I dont have feel any restriction in my portions, So will go back in a week and half for another fill. Bad part is, now because of what happened they are going to fill me VERYslowly, sucks, I really thinks this was barium, since they only put in 3cc and the band holds 10...I will keep you posted>

you were banded 06-20- 2005???? two years ago?? and only lost 11 pounds? that makes me feel better? i was banded 04-26-07 and have only lost 8 pounds, sure I hope I lose more tho! do you live in everett? I am by silverlake.

thanks, I verified today I have a inamed 11 cen band which holds 10cc of fluid, it is one of the newer band and have "ribs" to hel prevent slippage. also found out today that a 10 cen band only holds 4cc of fluid, wierd huh?

OMG! not sure why I needed to be unfilled, only know that they put 3cc's in a band that holds 10 cc for my first fill. I was fine when I left the Dr's office, then I started getting pain in my back, at first I thought it was just mild gas pains, then it got worse, then really bad, a 10 on a scale from 1-10. I called then clinic, they had me come back right away, I thought I was gonna die, almost had to call 911. They took all of the fill out and I had relief right away, they put back in 1cc and I have been fine since, not sure what went wrong, dont think they know either, could have been the barium, they did the fill under fruoscopy, they said wait two week and if I dont feel any restiction they will do another small fill in 2 weeks.

<p>dawned, I am embarrased to say I did not follow a pre op diet AT ALL! I know, I know, but I was ok and just had my first fill. Remember the better you follow the pre op diet the more you will lose, I was banded 04-26-07 and have only lost 8 pounds and I think that was all lost on the POST op diet.</p> anyone in or near Everett? PSSC?

3 weeks of liquids? OMG I would have never made it, prolly why my weight loss is so slow, shoulda stayed on liquids longer

I got good news today as well, after verifying I have the 11 cent band which is apparently the best, I actually have lost weight! pounds since the surgery date! I know its not much but, I was so bummed cause I thought I hadnt lost any weight! I'll take 8. eight is great! for now, LOL!

Thanks Cindi, I called the Dr's office and verified I have a Inamed 11 centimeter band, also verified it holds 10cc of fluid. glad to know I have the newest and best bands! The nurse told me the 10 centemeter band only holds 4 cc of fluid, that doesnt make sense to me, but what do I know, Im not a mathmatician, lol

HAd my first fill yeaterday, def been having the gurgling stomach thing, LOUD and alot of noises after I drink something too, no gas yet, alot of burping after the drink tho!

Congrats on the sweater! I was banded 04-26-07, did not do the pre op diet and have lost ZERO pounds! I was shocked at the fill appointmnet yesterday, I really thought I had some natual restriction and had been eating smaller portions, oh well, guess I need to try harder!

thanks for the info, had my first fill yeasterday, did nt even know that there were differednt sizes, I had a 3cc fil but reacted badly and they had to take out 2 cc about an hour later. so does the 11 hold 11 cc's of fluid?

hmmmm,,,so does the 11 hold more or less cc's of saline than the 4? I just confused cause if the 11 holds 11cc's of Fluid this why did I react so badly to only a 3 cc fill? and if I have a 11 does that mean my stomach is bigger than other people?

Laura, I cant belive he didnt numb you! mine did and did the fill under furoscopy, not sure if thats how you spell it, I think i have an 11 band, he put in 3cc and I thought I was OK, you will have to see my post under "fills" to see what happened next, it was NOT good, but at least I was numb! is ther anyone else out there that doesnt get numbed first?

:help:So I see people talking about a 4 and 9 and 10 bands, I think I have an 11. are the 4"s bigger or smaller than the 11"s? what determines what size of band you get? I looked back a couple of pages and didnt see anything regarding this questions, sorry if it has already been discussed,.., Thanks, Lucy

I thought I was going to DIE! I guess my band is a 11? not sure what that means, they only put in 3cc's, they had me drink a half a bottle of water before I left, I felt kinda wierd but nothing alarming,,,then I got back to work about 25 min later, I started getting horrible pains in my upper back, felt like I had to burp over and over but nothing helped., It got so bad I thought I was going to have to call 911. I called the center they told me to come back, by the time I got there 15 min later I was in tears and could barley walk, they rushed me in the back and imediantly removed all 3cc and I had instant relief. They nurse thinks the Dr was trying to get me to my "sweet spot" too soon and my body couldnt handle it. They put back in 1cc and told me to do liquids for 2 days then 1 day mushys, they said that if after the forth day I dont feel my portions are smaller they will do another fill in 2 weeks. I thought I had done alot of research on this but was completly un prepared for this, do you think part of it was the barion for the furoscopy fill?:help:

I havent had a fill yet, I can eat anything and everything, I dont even have to take small bites or chew alot! (very unfortunate) I havent lost a bit of wieght, I can still eat the same size portions as before, I am thinking I made a mistake with this surgery, I get my first fill on 06-06-07 hopefully this will change the amount of food I can eat at one seating.!!!

My throat was very sore so the water felt so good!

Thanks nbjen! You havent had your sugery yet? If not when? are you in Washington? I am in Everett, wa. Never heard of Dr Oh. I am feeling was better today. I actually got 6 hours straight sleep last night, up until now I was only sleeping in 2 hour increments.

OK here are the pics, DONT SCROLL DOWN IF YOU DONT WANT TO SEE! the first pic shows the DR holding back the liver to find the stomach, the 2rd picture shows all the fat around my stomach, the 3rd shows pytting the band in and the 4th shows the band in place with the stitches!

Mr Dr is Dr Billing with puget sound surgical ceter in Edmonds Wa. For day of the surgery and the next day I was on clear liquid. which included Jello, brooth, popsicles, Chystal light, diluted juice, and tea of coffe. day three thru eleven is full liquid which includes Milk, starined Soups, yougurt, pudding, protien drinks, and carnation instant Breakfast. day 12-19 is pureed, which include cottage cheese, mashed potatos, cream of wheat, strained fruit, pureeed vetables. I fell great today Stomach wise, I was able to get another rx for nausea, this is a pill form and some valium. I think my biggest problem is my back injury which keep me heavily medicated on pain meds which make me nauseated. The dr says my incisions look great and I am doing fine, he gave me some pictures of the proceedure! OMG:omg: anyone wanna see?? LOL Good news I am down 7.5 pounds in 6 days!!:clap2: Bad news is my boss called today and fired me! anyone know a lawyer that would be willing to give me a free phone consolation?:help:
