  1. I am 42. I have been considering wls for years. I finally got my butt in gear when I had insurance that would cover it. I decided on the sleeve. I have many people around me that have done gastric and lap, but I am the first sleeve. It is interesting to me to hear them tell me things that do and don't apply to me. There seems to be a lot of pre and post op differences. My bmi has floated from 38 to 42 forever (so it feels). I have no major co- morbidities that my insurance wanted for under 40. Just lots of minor ones- that don't add up to major. So when I had my first appointment, I did not stand straight up for height, --- now everything is set and my surgery date is quickly approaching on 7/29. My surgeon says I'm the perfect candidate--- I feel so guilty. :-/

  3. I am also on my pre-op diet. I too cheated. I had a lite jamba juice razzmataz shake with protein added. I loved it! But boy do I feel guilty.

  5. I am on day 6 of my pre-op diet. It seems to be getting harder. I was actually hungry all day yesterday for the first time. I broke down and had a cup of coffee on Sunday- and it made my headache go away.... Such a relief. I hope it doesn't come back again.
  6. Hi! I am scheduled July 29 th as well!! Boy do I understand the mix of emotions! I have thought that maybe I was the only one with crazy emotions, I am so glad I'm not!! I'd love to chat sometime, as I am looking for a buddy.

  13. I am so excited! And nervous! My pre-op date is July 17th Surgery date date is set for July 29! They tell me to plan 2 nights in hospital- what should I plan on taking???
  14. I to have tried the Premier protein shakes. I think they taste good. They just make me sick to my stomach. So I am hoping to find one that tastes good and doesn't make me sick. Any ideas?
  15. Hi Everyone! I am at the start of my journey- I have had my pre-op stuff done, and I am getting ready for my psych-eval next week. We should be setting a surgery date soon after that. I am very concerned about the protein shakes etc. I have tried different ones off and on over the last few years. But they all make me sick to my stomach. I am not lactose intolerant (heavens knows I can eat ice cream!). SO I am looking for suggestions. I have been reading a lot, and people tend to recommend Unjury. Has anyone tried the protein stuff from Celebrate? What do you think? Thanks!
