    Anyone a KU fan.

Being a Kansas boy I am a big KU fan. Not a big basketball fan more football. However I love March Madness. I was heartbroken today to see my Hawks not make it to the Final Four. What is your favorite college team.

Can you be to overweight for lap band

I was banded in April of 2010. When I went in to the seminar I weighed 597lbs and had a BMI of 93. My 1 year is in a few weeks and I am under 450lbs. I lost 30+ lbs before going to the seminar. ( I wanted to prove to myself I could lose weight w/o the band. It was always the issue of keeping it off). Losing 200 pounds w a band is doable as a matter of fact my Dr thinks I can lose another 250lbs w my band. Granted it will not happen overnight and it is not easy at all. My band is very tight. I can eat about 2 or 3 bites and I am done. But it is working and I am getting my life back to where it should be. With me out doing things w my Wife an daughter not stuck at home in front of the TV or PC stuffing my face. Good luck in finding that right Dr. I saw several before finding one that was willing to operate and that i felt comfortable with. But when you find them you will know it.
  4. Not used to this site yet either. Glad you hadfun on vacation. I wouldlove to go to New Orleans. Maybe some day we will make it.

  5. I am 5ft6in and weighed right at 600lbs my BMI was 93. I went to the Institute for Advanced Bariatric Surgey. They are located in Lenexa, Ks. Their website is www.laplose.com ths Drs. her are awesome they are a husband and wife team. As far a pricing I am not to sure on that I am covered by Medicare and my out of pocket costs were $2,400. That included a year of followup and fills. I was Banded on April 20, 2010 have had 7 fills and not recieved a single bill. Like I said I weighed 600lbs and am currently down to 450lbs. Good Luck with getting a good Dr and I would seriously look into this facility. I had to lose no weight before surgery and was only required to go on the Liver Shrinking 10 day diet.

Am I the fattest one here?

It all depends on how bad you want it. I also believe that support is a big motivator. I have struggled w weight all my life and this is something i have wanted to do for years. Now I feel that I have had a second chance at life and can be the Husband and Daddy I have always dreamed of being. I am now able to volenteer at my daughters school, help her practice for her softball games and even go for a walk w her. She is 8 and Dad has never been able to do these things w her and she is LOVING it. My wife is Loving it too. I am a stay ay home Dad and am now able to help my wife do more around the house. Not sure if you have a partner or children but hearing them tell me that they are proud of what I am doing just makes me work that much harder. Good Luck with your adventure and If you need any inperation I am here to chat.

Am I the fattest one here?

No they did not. However when I was on the liquid diet I did lose 43 lbs in ten days. I was supposed to be on the diet for 20 days but they had a cancellation and did my surgery earlier than scheduled. I wanted to have a bypass done and the Dr. told me that with my size the risks were too high so she wanted to band me in stead. Then after I lost some weight she could go in and do a revision. However i feel that I am doing very well with my band so I don't feel that a revision is necessary at this time. Not to mention affordable.

'Sup dudes. Any car guys here?

I have Loved cars for as long as i can remember. I am 35 and until 4 yrs ago when I was forced to go on disability due to my obesity I was an Auto Mechanic. How ever I may be the odd car guy cause I am a MOPAR guy. I love the sound of and old HEMI or Big Block screaming as you grab gears and blow the tires off of an old Road Runner or Cuda. I spent 3 years working for our local Chrysler dealer. While there I helped one of the sales men restore a 68 Plymouth Fury 3. I wound up rebuilding the engine, trans, rear diff, and complete front end. when we were finished that baby looked like it did the day it rolled off the show room floor. Some of my other car loves are 4x4 trucks and Demolition Derby. I have been building and driving Derby cars since I was 16. I acan remember helping my dad build his when I was barely old enough to see over the fender. As for my love of 4x4's I curently own a 1994 F150 extended cab. It is a short bed with a 5.0 sitting on 31x10.50 R15 tires. i can not wait till I amable to get back out there and get grease under my fingers again. Before I was banded I weighed over 600lbs. my surgery date was April 20. 2010. On saturday March 12 2011 I weighed when I went to a local support group and weighed in at 450 lbs. So I am on the right track. Good luck to all of you fellow car guys and keep the love alive.
