I was banded November 16th. I know it is real hunger when my tummy is talking to me so loudly others can hear her. LOL. I know it's head hunger when I see something on TV and all of a sudden I'm sooo starved. When I get the head hunger I turn on the radio and dance for a few songs to take my mind off it. Hello. I'm recently banded (11-16-2010). However, I want to help you. There are a couple of suggestions I'm going to make. You need someone besided yourself to hold you accountable for your eating habits. Someone who will not cave in to your wants and needs. There are many support groups available. One of my favorite is Overeaters Anonymous. You can go to their site and find a group in your area. Another important thing is movement. Your post did not say naything about exercise. You need to have a consistent exercise plan. No less than 3 days a week. Please do not give up on your goal!! You can accomplish it. You just have to remember that this is your life and you need to live it to the fullest. I hope I was able to help. Dawnya

Hi. I was banded the same day. My doc required a 7 day clear liquid and then moved on to full liquids today. I am so glad. I hope that after your visit the doc allows you to go to full liquid.

Hey everyone! I am on day 2 of my pre-op diet. I don't have to do the liquid thing. I'm on the Atkins induction phase. I slipped today and had a pretzel dog. LOL...it was really good. I'm back on track though. So how is everyone doing on their pre-op? Good luck to everyone having surgery this week. Dawnya

They have them for each city I believe. It is the way they get to offer the sites for free. Crazy I know.

Rudgirl...I'm November 16th. I too have to follow the Atkins Diet. I see you are in Austin. So am I. I have Dr. Esquivel through True Results. What about you? Dawnya

Hi everybody! I am scheduled to get banded on November 16th. I am so excited. I start my pre-op diet (Atkins) on November 2nd. I also have BCBS. I didn't have to do much of anything because my BMI is so high. I am a married mother of 2. My daughter is 2 and my son is 1. I'm 32. I was always "thick" but never overweight. When I turned 21 I suffered a devasting loss of a good friend/relationship and I drowned my sorrows in Ben and Jerry's icecream and soul food. I am having the surgery because I want to live a full life with my children. I hope to talk to you all through this process. Dawnya

Hello everyone! I'm new to the site. I am scheduled for surgery on November 16, 2010. I am required to do the Atkins Diet for 2 weeks prior to surgery. How many people were required to follow this diet? Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Dawnya
