  1. YAY for you!!! Don't worry you'll be fine. Believe me it was much less painful than I thought it would be. And I've been waiting for a month for "complications" to happen and nothing, everything is going smoothly.

Well I'm down 18lbs to 221 today. Had a stall there for a while, realized I wasn't eating enough. Now I'm trying for 900-1000 calories a day and the weight is starting to come off again. Eating that much is hard, on solids already. Never thought I would ever have trouble eating enough food ! But I really am starting to feel I'm getting in control of myself. Still having food cravings but eating much much healthier than before the band. Strangely not missing bread, would like pasta though but won't die without it.
  3. Dr. Naim is my surgeon. Had lap band on 8/17/10. Surgery went smoothly, not much pain. I'm down 17lbs as of today, my 1st month anniversary!
  4. You will always have a compulsion to eat. That's why you have a plastic band around your stomach! I call it food addiction, I'm a food addict, and my brain says feed me almost constantly. The band isn't going to take that feeling away, it would have to be on your brain for that....hmm I wonder... Anyway I am a fairly new band also, got banded on 8/17/10, and I find sugarfree popsicles (15 calories) and sugarfree Jello (5 calories) helps a lot. It satisfies my want to chew and swallow which for me I think makes my brain happy. Try these or other very low calorie chewable things, it will help. I'm told that within a couple of months your brain gets in sync with your stomach and stops demanding food all the time.
  5. I just found Boost glucose control shakes. I hate the taste of protein shakes and have tried many, ugh! I was desperate the other day and I have samples of Boost in my office, so I thought why not try it. I did and it tasted great, no aftertaste. But you need to get the glucose control ones because the regular has too many calories.

Well I survived my first fill, yay. Feeling fine today, down to 222 on the scale. Not having any problem eating thin cream of wheat this morning and not hungry now. I am more optimistic that this is really going to work for me. Lost 17lbs since my surgery on 8/17/10 yay!
