Getting Cold Feet?!
Thanks everyone for the encouraging comments! I'm feeling a little more optimistic today, obviously this is just a phase everyone goes through at one point or another and I've just got to ride it out! I'm looking at cute dresses online I'm going to wear when I get this dang weight off of me! Definitely helping me get my spirits back up, lol.

Getting Cold Feet?!
Not sure why but today after I signed all the official paperwork for my surgery and got my surgery time I started feeling really anxious. Now I'm completely doubting I can do this, I've been so optimistic and ready to get this done and now I'm nervous wreck! It's like I did a total 360. Hope this is normal and I get back to the attitude I need for this..

Pre-Op Diet
Can anyone give me some examples of what their daily diet was like during full and clear liquids? Thanks..

Just Got Back From Orientation
I'm not banded yet so I can't say that I know lap band does work but look all the people on this forum and how successful they have been whether they lost 40 pounds or 100+ pounds, that's something. My surgeon told me out of the three surgeries, lap band would not help me lose as much weight as say, gastric bypass or the sleeve. However, after floating around these boards I know that is up to ME. If I want to lose 100 pounds+ with the band, it can be done if I'm willing to do the work. I am also young (22) and my surgeon said nothing to me about being so young and probably being unsuccessful. He actually was more optimistic that I was so young, after all we have all the time in the world to make this work for us! If you're that concerned that it can't be done, check newtoy4kt on YouTube. (check out bandedwendy's channel also!) They were what pushed me to my final decision of lap band. Whatever you choose, good luck!

For Those Already Banded..vacation?
Hi, I'm being banded February 15th! Me and my husband's anniversary is about a month 1/2 later and we were hoping to plan a getaway..but I'm wondering if I'll be ready for that..I was hoping we could go to Disney World but I'm wondering if it would be safe to ride the rides and be doing that much walking that early out and get all jolted around? If not Disney World, maybe Jamaica or Myrtle Beach...but also not sure about being banded and if airplane rides have any effects on each other.. I'm seeing my Surgeon one last time before surgery next Tuesday so I'm going to ask him about all this but wanted to get advice/opinions from y'all also! Thanks..

5 Weeks 2 Days-vent
That might be a good idea...I've been trying to do Slim Fast but it just doesn't cut it..

5 Weeks 2 Days-vent
Yeah...5 weeks and 2 days until I am banded and I am seriously losing it! This month is dragging by and I'm so ready to get on the 'bandwagon!' I've been feeling desperate the last couple of months as is! I'm kinda embarrassed to talk about this but my hunger is just out of control, I've been eating so healthy but it's just not enough and I still eat way too much. I literally cannot get into any of my clothes anymore I'm gaining weight so rapidly! I don't want to go buy new clothes knowing I'm *hopefully* going to lose the weight soon but I'm having to wear a body shaper just to squeeze into my clothes..and this thing is not comfortable! I wear scrubs to work and my pants have gotten so tight I had to break down and order some more, 1 size up. They're too big! I feel stuck and gross! Idk how to get through this month and and then some....

Is It Possible?
Thanks for the blog, very inspiring! That girl has done something right for sure! As far as plastic surgery goes, I don't want to be a plastic surgery ***** lol but I am ok with a body lift/tummy tuck and I love my girls so if those go I must replace them! Those scars don't bother me nor the lap band surgery scars, I've seen other's and they all seem to heal up quite nicely. (and definitely are a trade up on stretch marks IMO) I'm really worried about having bat wings and saggy thighs..and plastic surgery for those issues are more noticeable. From what I've heard the scar for a thigh lift is from your knee up! So much for wearing cute shorts! And I'd hate to have a scar up half my arm I'm probably over thinking this, I am only 22 and hoping my young age will help a lot of things things shrink up but I've also been overweight my ENTIRE life, so I'm wondering if this will cancel out the benefit of being so young.. Is It Possible?
I know it's early to be thinking about things like this, considering I'm not even banded yet but I just have to ask... Is it possible to be morbidly obese, lose your goal weight and have a rocking body? I know plastic surgery will most likely have to be involved but I'm so worried about my arms and thighs! Those scars are so ugly if you have plastic surgery there :/ I keep daydreaming of wearing a bikini one day LOL But I'm thinking I'm kidding myself......

February Bandsters?
I know there's a special section for this, but it doesn't seem to be too popular so I'll give it a whirl here.. Anyone here to be banded in February besides me? My surgery date is February 15th. Feel free to add me on Facebook for support, etc. =] http://www.facebook.com/DakotaRaeBanded2012

All Scales Are Not Created Equal!
I think I'll just take a trip to Walmart or Target and get a new scale. Surprisingly, my husband said he would get me the Withing scale! I told him it's too much for a 'scale' but he said whatever helps me stay motivated he doesn't mind splurging, if it's health related and keeps me on this earth with him longer, lol. Sweet boy....anyways it still seems outrageous to me! I just weighed myself 3 times in a row, 279 then 289 then 315?!?! I especially did not like that last # and it almost got it's self thrown out the window, haha...so I will definitely be getting a new one this weekend! Thanks for all y'alls suggestions

Different...?
That sounds crazy to me, I'm not banded yet but my dietician told me clear liquids for at least the first 3 days after surgery. She said she prefers for me to go 4 days but if I'm just too hungry I can go ahead and slowly progress to full on liquids. She said the longer you go on the clear liquid diet the better b/c that's when you will lose the most weight, the quickest but at the same time you can't go a week+ protein deprived.

All Scales Are Not Created Equal!
Wow that sounds pretty nifty, but idk about spending that much! Lol my husband would probably kill me, since I already informed him he has to get me a fitbit! Mrsmyers2010

All Scales Are Not Created Equal!
My scale is 10-15 pounds off! Makes it impossible to tell if I'm gaining/losing. I don't remember where I got it but I know I paid 50 bux for it (grr) so anyone have any suggestions for a good scale? Weird question, I know.. Lol Mrsmyers2010

Protein Shake (yuck!)
I noticed most people say Muscle Milk Light was their protein drink of choice...and most really preferred the cookies n cream flavor. So that's the first one i bought to try out, it was on sale at my local GNC (normally $45 and on sale for $27!!) so I went ahead and bought a big tub of it...and I hate it! I actually don't like how thin it is..it taste like a candy bar melted into water to me, and it leaves this chalky weird taste in mouth, similar to the after taste of slim fast...How can I thicken this up/or make this taste better, really don't want it to go to waste.. My husband thinks it taste like a milkshake and I just can't believe it! lol

Anybody Else's Dietician Make Them Feel Like Crap?
I think she said she wants to see me on a regular basis, like every 6 weeks but I'm not sure that's even necessary. I guess it would be good for 'accountability' but not with her attitude, lol. I'm just going to stick it out for the one more post-op appointment with her and then hopefully I won't need her 'guidance' any longer. If I ever do feel like I need some again, I'll simply go to someone else. I think I forgot to mention she's quite young, probably my age or a little older maybe (22+) and she's probably never weighed more than a whole 125 pounds her whole life..so it is what it is

Anybody Else's Dietician Make Them Feel Like Crap?
@Violet...the only symptoms I have out of those you talked about is the clotting really bad (it's horrible! Fist size sometimes!) my OBGYN told me the clotting is caused by my lining shedding too fast and my body not having time to break everything down..I had a D&C lady year just so they could go in and see if they cold find anything wrong. Nothing but a cyst on my right ovary and very early stage minimal endometriosis what they called 'freckles'.. Mrsmyers2010
