  7. Jon, I am so proud of you for sharing what you have gone through and what your plan of action is. I am not banded but have been around and hope to someday have wls. You are taking the 1st step and that is admitting you have a problem. I think you will succeed.

  9. So today was the day I have been dreading for some time now. I have out grown all my clothes to where I couldnt go out of the house unless I was wearing my sunday dress clothes. So today my dh and I went shopping for some clothes for me and to my surprise I had jumped not 1 size but to 2 sizes BIGGER:eek: . I cant wait for the day I can get out of these and into regular size clothing.
  10. I have seen this posted a few times and was just wondering what the difference was from a Lap Band and a VG lap band
  11. For me it was when I was diagnosed with High Blood Pressure and type 2 diabetes. I had just barely turned 33 for the Blood Pressure issues and just turned 34 when the diabetes came along. I had a flashback of when I was 19 and my dad was only 39 (he had a stroke and died from high BP) I knew right then I had to do something or else I would be going through the same fate. My kids are young, 10, 9 and 4 and I definately dont want them growing up without me. I started researching the lap band and the RNY. The military will pay for the RNY but I dont fancy having my stomache re routed. After researching the band I decided this was it, but being self pay I needed to find a cheaper alternative to the 20k that they charge here so after finding this place and all the support and great stories of Dr's in Mexico I decided to go self pay mexico way. If all goes well I will be banded sometime in February
  12. I went to google and searched Lap Band Surgery and got all kinds of sites that have info here is one of the http://www.lap-band.com/lapband/aboutlapband.do I haven't had my surgery yet but will in February. Its a lot less invasive then the RNY (gastic bypass) Here is a little quote from the site to give you an idea
