  1. I have had my band for over a year now and I have recently noticed in the the past couple months some sharp pains around my port area and right and in the middle of my stomach (in my ab area). It is very painful and comes and goes. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing and was wondering what it could be? Thanks
  2. Thank you Marcy... sending a HUG right back your way
  3. Thank you My doctor keeps the needle in while im drinking to see if he needs to add more saline or take some out... so he doesn't have to poke me again.
  4. Actually Unjury Protein Powder is the only protein powder I like... My favorite is the chocolate splendor
  5. My mom had her band removed and she was fine. She had got diagnosed with cancer a year or two after she had got her band and her doc took all the saline out of it. Well down the road she kept vomiting all the time and couldn't eat more than something the size of a grape and even that made her sick. She actually lost so much weight and almost starved to death. Until the doctor I have found out that her band ended up slipping up around her esophagus. He took it out and within a day or two she was fine and could eat without getting sick. So you will be ok, you do what you think is best for you and your body... you are the only one that knows your body and if something isn't right than you know what to do. I wish you the best of luck . ~Katy K
  6. So yesterday I went to see my doctor to have my 1st fill, well it didn't go that well. He put the needle in and sat me up to start drinking my water, well the needle came out... so he laid me down and went for my port again and tried putting the saline in and had to have his nurse get more saline, it just kept going in and not retracting like he wanted it to. So he is sending me to have a fill with an xray and he is going to inject some dye into it to see if their is a leak in it and if their is no leak then he will give me my fill and if for some reason my band is messed up....I have to have surgery again to fix it. I am nervous as heck!!! Has anyone ever had the same problem???
  7. So I had my surgery on 02-15-11 and my 1st fill is 03-30-11. After surgery I lost 14 lbs the fist 2 weeks, then I kind of stopped losing weight and as I started eating solid foods I gained back 4-5 lbs. I keep losing it and gaining it right back. Now I feel really bad about gaining some weight back and I feel like im going to disappoint the doctor or someone else. I don't know anyone where I live that has the band, so I really don't have anyone to talk to and get advice. I just hate having the feeling that im gonna disappoint someone. Is it normal to gain weight back like this when you start back on solid food? Thanks~Katy
