  1. Awesome NSV I'm going to see the Backstreet Boys in July and can't wait to be able to buy a smaller shirt
  2. According to my NUT, I am on liquids for 7 days after surgery and then I do 1-2 weeks of pureed/mushies before moving onto soft food where I will stay for about 4-6 months.
  3. Thanks I think I'll go get some tomorrow since they are closed on Sundays
  4. I started my TOM 2 days after surgery and I thought my back pain/cramping was from the surgery but I guess not! I have been on my TOM for the past 4 days and boy is it HEAVY! I've gone through a ton of pads since then! I hope this isn't a forever thing, I hope my cycle goes back to normal soon.
  5. I start my pureed/mushies phase tomorrow and I can't wait! I've felt amazing on just the liquid diet but I am so ready for some pintos & cheese, soup...anything that has substance lol
  6. You will get better I had my VSG performed on 3/21 and 6 days later, I am feeling almost 100% back to normal. I'm not sure if it has to do with the fact that I am only 23, but I seem to have healed pretty quick. The first 2 days were killer though!
  7. I'm not sure when you will be able to burp, but I have been able to since about day 4. I was sleeved on the same day as you I know it's tough but eventually you will be able to.
  8. I had my VSG performed on 3/21 so it has been 6 days and I've been drinking my Water like I'm supposed to but I am craving diet lemonade. Would diet lemonade from Chik-Fil-A be okay to have? It is made out of lemon juice, water & splenda.
  9. Where can you find adult liquid tylanol? we don't have it in any stores around here
  10. I had my sleeve done on 3/21 and was told to be on liquids until I see my doctor for my post-op visit on 3/30. I am super confused because the packet given to me by my NUT says "Water, Jello, broth" with no Protein shakes (Not sure I can get one down right now anyway), but the handbook given to me by my coordinator says that I am supposed to have "4 cups Protein Drink, 2 cups 1% milk and 2 cups of puree & strained low fat soup" I didn't receive anything from my surgeon about what to have after surgery, he just told me to stay on liquids. I am so confused! What did everyone do for their first week?
  11. I have surgery tomorrow morning and I doubt I'll be getting much sleep tonight. My stomach is all nauseous from being nervous!
  12. Tomorrow morning is THE DAY! I will finally be sleeved! I will be at the hospital at 6:30 AM for pre-op. I'm getting kinda nervous, which is weird because I haven't been at all until today. I'm just scared that something won't go right and I was wondering, what did everyone bring to the hospital with them? I am probably only going to be staying overnight so I'm not sure how much to bring with me.
  13. I am on week 2 of my liquid pre-op diet and the Protein shakes are starting to make me feel really nauseous and I have to struggle to get them down. Has anyone else had this problem? and what can I do? I know I need them, but I just dread drinking them lately. Oh and by the way, I'm drinking Matrix 5.0 shakes made with the Protein powder
  14. I don't have my surgery until 3/21 but I'm bringing chapstick, my kindle, toothpaste & toothbrush, hair brush, big fluffy robe
  15. I am on day four of my 2 week liquid pre-op diet and I am doing really good actually, but I just woke up from a nap where I was dreaming about eating "regular" food! Even in my dream I was telling myself, I am not supposed to be eating this! Has anyone else had food dreams while on the liquid diet?
  16. I am on day 4 as well It isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Only 10 more days! and 3 of those days will be on Clear Liquids Only! My suggestion for the dry mouth problem is to just keep drinking a ton of water & eating ice..that is the only thing that seems to help. I am getting ready to go for my first weigh in since starting my liquid diet and to see my NUT for the first time
  17. It gets a lot better by day 3. I am on day 3 right now and even though food smells are tempting, I am not giving into them. My best advice would be to make sure you drink all your water & protein shakes and eat the heck out of Jello. I've only had 1 Jello since starting on Monday but I plan on having some tonight
  18. You will do great! Congrats on starting your new life
  19. Good luck! My date isn't until the 21st but we will do amazing
  20. Thanks I will keep having my 60g of protein. Today is day 2 on pre-op for me and it really isn't bad at all! I could do this!
  21. How much Protein are you supposed to be getting in a day on the pre-op liquid diet? I haven't seen my nutritionist yet so I'm not sure. I'm getting in about 62 grams of protein a day, should I be getting more? and how many carbs are too many? Today I have had 15 grams of carbs..is that too many?
  22. Day 2 for me as well. I'm drinking my water & eating my string cheese (I get 1 string cheese and 1 egg per day). I'll have my shake for lunch later
  23. I really like the Matrix 5.0 powders, they mix up really well and actually taste good!
  24. I go in tomorrow morning for my pre-op testing at the hospital..I know I shouldn't be nervous about it but I am. They are doing an Upper GI, blood work, stomach & chest x-ray, EKG and Echocardiogram. Only 13 more days until surgery and I can't wait!
  25. Today was day 1 on the pre-op diet for me and it actually wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I only had 2 shakes today, lots of Water and 2 eggs. My surgeon said that I can either have 1 egg & 1 cheese stick or 2 of either one. I'm planning on trying to get in my 4 shakes tomorrow but that might be kinda hard since I'll be getting my pre-op testing done from 7:30 am - who knows when! We can do it! Only 13 more days until surgery for me!
