  1. ok------....drum roll please..... i got the green light from the psychologist! wow that was a long appt... 700 true/false questions and an appt with a psychologist and a student psychologist! it was actually kind of nice, being able to voice my opinion and feelings regarding being fat and getting ready to be banded...my husband just usually nods and smiles (he has no idea about all the pros and cons of it)! i actually felt great when i left there-i didn't even stop at a fast food restaurant on the way home! thanks to all of ya for your support! i have to wait two weeks for the next step i guess...the "phone call"...
  2. death is a sad thing, missy....drug addict or not. i'm sorry you feel this way...
  3. i too am sorry for anna nicole and her unfortunate broadcasted highs and lows...we are all human, right? i heard on the Today show this morning that now there's speculation that she was inseminated with her rich dead husband's sperm (the old guy).... can this get any weirder?
  4. thank you all for your words of wisdom! monday is the big day---i'll post back when (or if...lol) i make it back home! do they make plus sized straightjackets???!!! have a great weekend! courtney
  5. wow- that's too bad, bubbles...i don't know what was said or what was commented on, but i'm sorry you can't use this site for support on your journey. i wish you the best of luck and happiness... courtney

  8. I have a Shih-Tzu that i adopted from a breeder almost two years ago. she's golden colored and her name was princess...well-i thought that was too stupid, so i shortened it and changed it to Cescie....like princess without the prin and a y sound at the end! why not have different names? it keeps people guessing!
  9. Hello, friends! I'm just getting a little nervous about my psych evaluation a week from tomorrow...I spoke with the administrative assistant at my bariatric clinic and she said something like...'if you get the green light from our psychiatrist...' What green light??? I'm kinda freaked---what are they going to try to figure out??? Duh-I'm fat-let's get on with it.....lol Hope to hear from ya! ~Courtney

  12. sunny- i've heard of a lot of people heading down to denver for their surgery! i've also heard of somewhere in texas where they have it for 10,000 also. they have different financing options there, too! believe me-if i had to self pay i'd head south too! it's just too expensive in wisconsin right now! and now that WLS is a covered benefit for medicare, i'm in competition for a spot on the surgery table! they told me if i was self pay they'd squeeze me in sooner---imagine that! i'll be hoping for a big tax return for you! talk to you soon ~courtney
  13. omg Wheetsin-you crack me up! thanks for the laughs! ~courtney
  14. i think it was oprah that said "nobody overeats merely because they love food".....ever since i heard that i've kinda tried to get to the root of my overeating problem...who knows---i'm the type that eats when i'm sad, happy, hungry, tired, awake, etc... i think it's important that we remember that the lap band is an important 'tool' that can help us lose the weight---i think we're supposed to get help mentally also. best of luck to you-i also need to lose around 150 lbs. keep me posted on your journey! good luck on feb. 22nd-i'll be thinking of you!
  15. hi mattie! heck no-don't let age stop you! i'm 32 but feel like 70 due to my weight. we can only feel younger when we get this surgery, no matter how old we are! stay positive and keep us posted on your journey! best of luck to you!

  21. congrats to all my fellow x-smokers! i'm new to the not smoking sections, but so far so good! i just woke up and decided that getting banded was more important to me than smoking (my doc requires 3 mos. of nicotine free pre surgery)...a week after i quit i went to the doc-he suggested wellbutrin which i think has helped! you're supposed to start taking it before you quit, but i didn't want to wait for my doctor appointment, so i just quit cold turkey till i made it to see him! i am doing great-it's just a little weird not lighting up with my classmates....but i love it! kudos to the odd man out!!! ~courtney
  22. i live twenty minutes from mauston! i go there often! i also go that way to get to the outlet mall in the dells! it's a small world after all!
