  1. My doctor told me you won't stretch your pouch on liquids. Now I'm sure that went hand in hand with not drinking a gallon of Water in an hour. I LOVE the AdvantEDGE drinks. I survived on the chocolate shakes on my preop diet and starting the fourth day after surgery. I like that they are less milky and more watery. chilled they are delicious.
  2. You can see by my BMI I'm a big gal. Out patient still had me under the care of the same doctors I would have had if I was staying in the hospital. I had to pass the same mile markers before I was released. Safer, yes. Pretty much all the publications agree upon that. Good luck.
  3. Thanks for sharing that Vanessa. Glad everything is working out for you and congratulations on your new little girl!
  4. I pick up my clothes at a variety of stores because the outfits they have at some of the plus stores look like.... how can I say this nicely?.... How 'bout that Jacklyn Smith KMart look?!! I've never been a polyester girl.
  5. Don't get me started on Lane Bryant. I paid off my credit card and that is that. Catherines is also of the same company but their fabrics are better, selection is better and I think the staff seems to be not too huffy. LB's selection has gone down but they have killer play pretties for bedtime. Fashion Bug is also of the same company. They do shady sales. You have to read the print on the flier and on the signs. I've seen THE SAME PANTS but because the vendor tags were one season off, the sale didn't apply to the size that fit me but applied to the pair I had tried on that didn't fit.
  6. I did. (I'll add more because the above was too short to post)
  7. GREAT to hear from you! Congratulations. Happy healing.
  8. Not that I need to know this but HOW would someone physically endure this? I think it would make me sick, physically sick.
  9. A 5 oz. steak? Ouch. That is all I can think.
  10. Thanks Bubble. This helps. I'm home, resting and on Water. I'm actually hungry. I could probably get by with mushy sweet potatoes from Boston Market which went down perfectly. The warmth of them felt good. Honestly, that episode really freaked me out. I like what you said about "not now" to remove that sense of denial I am sometimes feeling. That is always a domino for diet failure for me. But the turkey hack really scared me. I knew instantly my stomach was not ready for it when I started yacking like that. It was like an out of body experience to see my body reacting in a way I'd never seen before. Wheetsin I don't plan on going near turkey for a long time.
  11. I'll jump in on this one. My future son-in-law is a lifer soldier in the Army. As we plan the wedding, we also are becoming acclimated to his JOB I find myself wanting to begin gushing about what a wonderful boy he is and how thrilled I am he will be my son in law because he is so honorable and loyal and serious both personally and professionally. He is very cautious to talk about what he does for the Army. When he and my daughter realized they were serious and marriage was the direction they were going in, WE as a family were told by him that some of the things he does is confidential what he called classified. The best way I can describe what I do professionally is to paralell it to counseling. What you share in the clinic does not leave the office unless it is with like professionals for the purpose of professional concern. So when he started talking about confidential, I got that. In a medical setting you can understand why things are confidential. People have a right to privacy. Now change the right to privacy to protection. Their job is to protect our country. It is natural to want to talk about what you or rant or Blog your day but if your job is security, how secure do you keep things when you blog about it in an open forum like the web? Anyone can read this. Remember the old saying "Loose lips sink ships" back in the WWII era. It still applies. Wheetsin you made a good point about work and our computers and how they are used. They are the company's. What is on them is the company's. My take on this can be narrowed down to the fact that at the source is your job, your job is to remain tightlipped about what you do, where you are with no specifics. Does that change when you leave work? No. The ethic is still there. Is it still breaking the law if you run a stop sign in the middle of no where with no oncoming traffic and no one sees you do it? Yes. The law is still in place.
  12. Ovaries of steel. I love strong women. It's a beautiful thing. You sound so together.
  13. Excellent post! Nature or nurture? Good thoughts.
  14. THANKS! That makes so much sense since the other dog is older and tends to get the best scraps, lots of love (not that Buck isn't gushed over..he's a Lab afterall!) I appreciate the reasoning. Dogs are awesome.
  15. Susansilver may the force be with you!
  16. Isn't this awesome?!!! OMG, I commuted to college. I can remember leaving here at 6 ish and driving through rush hour traffic to make an 8 AM class. TV courses are such a dream come true not to mention online courses. My son checked his grades yesterday, he was on academic probation...hey, he's allowed one....and this semester he had a 3.0 combined. He logged in to see his grades and there was no paper involved. I'm definately taking a class either second session of summer term or the fall. Learning is so exciting to me. **and props to you Laurend for researching and writing not just writing** Knowledge is power.
  17. Goodmorning friends. Glad I am sticking with Dr. K. (shivers) Skye, I feel for you so much. What a mess. Post back how it is going for you.
  18. I couldn't agree more!:clap2:
  19. Congratulations. I dream of having this done. My belly swings.
  20. First, YAY on getting approved!!!:clap2: My daughter procrastinates like this. She always ends up wigging out and power studying at the 11th hour. Live and learn I guess. 100 not bad!
  21. YAYAYAYA!!!!!!!!!! What a victory for you. Way to go!
  22. Yeah. My daughter's BF is Mormon. The boys go on a mission kind of experience when they are 15 and are called "Elders" at the church. No soda pop or caffiene. ................................................. Warren Jeffs is doing his own thing. He can call himself whatever he choses but he's a criminial. ............................................................ Proxy baptisms seem about as effective as proxy "I'm sorry's." ....................................................................................... I'm not making fun of the LDS and hold them in great respect for one thing...family. They are very pro family. Very pro couples. The church here has many activities, socials and so forth to build friendships. And just like Fallwell doesn't represent many Christians, I think there are many folks out there who profess to be whatever affiliated with a well known group but do a poor job representing it.
  23. >>I thought if I chewed it to paste I would be fine. Guess who was wrong? I won't be doing turkey again for some time. I had my mushy sweet potatoes and cheese and that went down fine. Wheetsin:It's not a PB if you make yourself sick, is it? And FWIW, I've *never* had a PB do anything like that. Were you able to breathe throughout the entire thing? Any pain to speak of? Did anything come up? >>yeah, turkey, slimey turkey bits. But I was fine after that. Pain while I was doing the cat hack thing, yeah. I could breath but it felt like my stomach couldn't as in expanding and contracting my diaphram was not an option. Wasabubblebutt: Wow... sounds *really* early to be eating turkey. You likely still have swelling. Be sure to go back to liquids for a day or two to relieve the additional swelling. >>I think I pushed it. I have been swollen, like a MUFFIN TOP? Tender and I think it's because I tried to do too much too soon. I got really sick yesterday. Not just last night but during the afternoon.
  24. Courtney Love's crash diet Courtney Love has lost an incredible 45 pounds in just four months. The former Hole singer showed off her new svelte figure in a tiny string bikini when she took a dip in the pool at Hawaiian holiday resort Kea Lani this week. A source told Us Weekly magazine: "She starting losing weight in December when she began drinking diet shakes and sticking to a strict healthy eating regime. "She has cut out carbs and is eating fish, steamed vegetables and doing lots of yoga. "She's feeling like a different person. Her goal is to lose 55 pounds altogether."
  25. I love Courtney. I love what she said about the music industry. I loved her transformation in The People vs. Larry Flynt. Anyway! In Hollywood it is suppose to be all natural these things you do to make yourself stunning. But everyone knows about veneers, botox, peels, plastic surgery and all the other stuff. You know if she came out she had it done there would be all these questions and then she'd clumped with Carnie Wilson. I don't think she wants that for her image. Celebrities barely have any privacy anyway so who can blame her for denying it. She looks hot though. Seen any late photos of her? Francis Bean looks SO much like Kurt.
