  1. Low Fat/Low Calorie Quiche 1/3 cup of Evaporated Fat Free Milk 1/4 tsp salt 1 cup of Egg Beaters (or you can use 4 eggs) 1 cup of cheese (any kind) 1 9 inch pie shell Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all of the ingredients above and then pour into a pie shell. You can add whatever ingredients such as spinach, mushrooms, ham, broccoli to the bottom of the pie shell before pouring the mixture into it. Bake for 40 - 45 minutes, or until a fork inserted into the center comes out clean. When I figured the calories for a slice, it was less than 200. It is extremely good. I love it, and it is a great mushy food too.
  2. In a much better frame of mind this afternoon. Went to the store, and made it out of there without any thing that could sabotage me. Going to make quiche tonight for supper, and have a salad to go with it.
  3. It is broccoli, cheese, and mushroom quiche for me. Along with a salad. I have found butter lettuce. Why am I just now discovering this wonderful creation?
  4. Blech...That was me stepping on the scales this morning. I actually made it 3 days without weighing. It showed I had gained 4 pounds over the weekend, and 1.5 pounds since last Monday. I hate this so very much. I'm thinking today is going to be a liquid kind of day. I need to get back in the right mind frame.
  5. Got on the scales this morning, and I realized that I have lost over 50 pounds. When in the world did that happen? Am I the only one that their clothes are getting to big, but I refuse to buy new ones just yet? I have 2 pairs of shorts that slip off when I walk, so I don't wear them any more. I know my body is changing. I can actually see it and feel it in the way my clothes fit, but there is a little part of me that is scared that I will gain all of that weight back.
  6. Tricares requirements Is 100 pounds over ideal weight for height and bone structure and has one of these associated conditions: diabetes mellitus, hypertension, cholecystitis, narcolepsy, Pickwickian syndrome, hypothalamic disorders or severe arthritis of the weight-bearing joints Is 200 percent or more over ideal weight for height and bone structure
  7. Samsies...I was approved within 24 hours of the paperwork being submitted.
  8. It is very common to gain weight when you first start solids. I think that needs to be on a banner somewhere. I did, but I lost that plus an extra 3.
  9. It took me nearly 2 weeks to feel good. I was having a hard time getting enough Protein. I believe that "What in the world did I just do?" feeling is common. I know I felt that way during the first 2 weeks. Now that I'm 5 weeks out, I wouldn't have changed it for the world. My only regret is not doing it sooner.
  10. I found that my weak time is from 3 -6. Once I make it past 6, I'm not hungry for the rest of the evening. I just have to make it through that rough period.
  11. I have to catch myself asking my husband if he really needs that extra serving. He has about 30 pounds he needs to lose, and I'm constantly bugging him about going to the gym with me.
  12. Dee - Yes I am. Just ordered the Zumba DVDs, so that way I can do them at home when I can't make it to the gym. This has been the best I've felt in years.
  13. I'm trying to stay positive and happy that I'm losing 1 - 4 pounds per week now that I'm eating. It isn't easy. I'm wanting to lose the weight quickly.
  14. Any and all things chocolate, but that is PMS talking. Other than that it is pickles. Yes, I eat the pickles, and I drink the pickle juice.
  15. I love how all doctors are different. Mine prefers you drink out of a straw because it keeps you from gulping your drink.
  16. Weight watchers has an amazing cream of potato soup. I also like tomato basil soup. 2 - 28 oz cans crushed tomatoes 8 - 10 roma tomatoes chopped Put in blender and puree. Put in a pot on the stove. Add 1 14oz can of chicken broth Boil and then reduce to a simmer for 10 minutes Chop and add 8 - 10 basil leaves Add 1 tsp sugar or splenda, 1/4 milk, and 2 tbsp of butter Heat through and serve. I also like the broth from chicken tortilla soup. I love that stuff.
  17. I have Tricare Prime, and we don't live near a MTF. I paid $25 for the hospital. I paid $75 for my nutritional consult and $150 for my psych eval. I know that I could have had those 2 things completely covered if I would have wanted to hunt for somebody that took Tricare, but I figured it would be easier on me to just suck it up and pay $225 to use the people in his office. Every thing else was completely covered. I went to my PCP, and he referred me to a Lap-band surgeon. The entire process took less than a month from the time I went to the doctor till the time I had my surgery.
  18. I did the same thing. I thought it was normal too. I told my doctor. They took out a little over 1 cc out of my band, and I felt a 100% better. I couldn't eat a full container of yogurt, and it hurt to drink. Call your doctor.
  19. You guys talked me into it. I just ordered the Zumba DVDs. I get tired of doing the treadmill and bike. Plus with 4 kids and 2 in afterschool activities, I sometimes can't make it to the gym.
  20. Mine says 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after. Then to take a glass of ice and sip on the water that is melted during the meal if I need something to drink.
  21. I hurt, and I cried for a bout 3 or 4 days after surgery. I wondered what in the world I had done. 4 weeks out though, and I wouldn't change a thing. I'm feeling wonderful, and I'm so glad that I did it.
  22. YEA!!!!!! Good luck on your surgery today.
  23. I got mine 3 weeks after surgery, and it was 3.5 cc in a 10 cc band. I've noticed though that my doctor is way more lenient than most.
  24. I was at the grocery store yesterday, and ice cream was on sale. I stared longingly at it. Would turn the carton over to look at the fat, carb, and calorie counts to see if I could justify myself in getting it. I stood there for 5 minutes, and I'm sure that people wondered why the fat woman wouldn't just go ahead and grab some. Then I remembered....I DON'T LIKE ICE CREAM. I shut the door, and I pushed my cart to the checkout. Didn't want those 45 minutes on the treadmill to go to waste.
