  1. I don't think so. The only reason the doctor didn't want me using a treadmill for 4 weeks is in case you slip and fall. That was the only reason for no treadmill. When I got the clearance to use the treadmill, the first thing I did was slip while walking on it. :rolleyes2:
  2. I was told I could ride my exercise bike when I felt up to it, and that was straight from my doctor because I asked. I couldn't do the treadmill for 4 weeks. I could walk. I wasn't allowed weights until 3 weeks post-op after I had my first fill.
  3. I ordered the dvds because there are days that I just can't make it to the gym. I've found that I prefer doing the dvds than going to the gym now. I love them. They aren't easy, but they are fun. My little girls will tell me they want to dance, so we Zumba.
  4. Thank you for responding. I was wanting to make sure it had nothing to do with flying.
  5. Why do you have to get unfilled when you go to Okinawa?
  6. Gina's Skinny Recipes I've made 4 or 5 recipes already off of her site.
  7. Dee - I was thinking of doing Weight Watchers too. I've found a website that calculates the points for you online for free. I've found a website that has a LOT of WW recipes on it with the points already figured for me. Most WW recipes that I've cooked, I've really enjoyed.
  8. I have what I consider a dumb question. I started out this journey in a size 30/32. It was a tight 30/32. I could have probably worn a bigger size than that even. I'm now in a 22/24. How many dress sizes do I say that I have lost? Is it 2 or 6? A NSV yesterday. I pulled off a pair of size 24 capris without unbuttoning or unzipping them.
  9. Lost those stubborn 4 pounds that I had gained last week. Ended up having to up my calorie intake from 700 - 800 to 1000 to 1100, and voila they disappeared. Guess my body needed more fuel. I did goof up yesterday. We had a retirement ceremony at church yesterday for one of the church staff. I grabbed a punch not thinking about it. Took 3 little sips of it, and then realized it had ginger ale in it. I won't make that mistake again. It made my stomach hurt at just 3 little sips.
  10. I had a slice of pizza for supper last night. No problems what so ever. I haven't tried steak yet. I have had some beef fajitas, but I chewed, chewed, and then chewed some more.
  11. I gave up caffeine back when I started my pre-op diet. Figured if I was going to go through the carb withdrawals, that I would go through the caffeine one at the same time. Now having said that, I was told caffeine whenever I wanted it. I drink my coffee and iced tea de-caf now.
  12. I was cleared for working out at 4 weeks. Every once in a while, I get that twinge at my port site too.
  13. My brother called me this afternoon to see how I was doing. He was banded on June 12 of this year. I was telling him that I actually gained 4 pounds over the weekend, and he laughs at me. He is losing between 3 - 5 pounds a week. He weighed a hundred pounds more than me when he started, and I'm very happy for him, but.......
  14. I'm not sure I could eat much more food. 1/2 cup keeps me satisfied right now. I don't have that stuffed feeling that I was getting when I was first filled. I can eat a little more, but it certainly isn't going overboard. I still only average 775 calories per day. Yesterday, I actually made it over 1000, and I was happy. My carbs were in the low 50s, so I was very happy with that. Maybe I should focus on keeping my carbs around 50 - 70, and I think that would make me happy. Not make me feel like I'm dieting. Right now, I don't feel like I'm dieting. I want it to remain that way. I never knew how difficult this was going to be.
  15. The only thing I would change about getting the band, would be that I wish I had done it earlier. It was the best decision that I have ever made. I'm loving it.
  16. Yes, I'm on solid food. I don't get hungry until around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. I've just noticed over the last few days, that I could eat more. I make myself not eat more than what I'm allowed, but where I used to get full on the 1/2 cup, I don't any more.
  17. I want to know too. I've had one fill, and I'm ready for another one. It has been 3 weeks, and I can tell that it is time. My next one is not until the 30th.
  18. I did. I saw it go up when I went from liquids to mushies, and from mushies to solids. It is very common. As a matter of fact, I actually saw an increase in my weight over the last week. I've gone up nearly 5 pounds. Still can't figure out why.
  19. I got my Zumba DVDs yesterday, and I love them so far. I can't wait to build up my stamina to the hour long one. I just did the 20 minute express one, and it flew by. I couldn't believe when it was done. It was much harder than doing the treadmill at the gym.
  20. I'm so happy for you! I know you have been waiting for your approval for a while! We need to get together soon.
  21. I've googled it so much, that I think my eyes are going to pop out. From what I've gathered, you start out at 20 or less. Then you up it from there. Going over no more than 50 grams, or in some cases 100. Do I have the gist of it at least for the Atkins diet? I'm really not trying to low carb it, but I haven't cleared 100 carbs in a day since before pre-op diet. Today I think is going to be my exception.
  22. I've never low carbed. Not something that I really want to do, but I have a question. What is the maximum number of carbs that you are allowed per day on a low carb plan? I know that when I had my 3rd kid, that I had gestational diabetes. I had to follow a diet plan that was 30 grams of carbs at breakfast 30 grams of carbs at snack 60 grams of carbs at lunch 15 grams of carbs at snack 60 grams of carbs at dinner 15 grams of carbs at snack That was the best I had ever felt following that plan, and I actually lost weight while pregnant. I have thought about following something like that now.
  23. I'm going to stop and get some new potatoes just in case that doesn't turn out. I'm not low carbing it. I just wanted something different.
  24. Going to try mashed cauliflower tonight with roast. Don't know if I'm going to be able to eat the roast. Got my Zumba dvds today, and I did the basics plus a p90x intro video that somebody posted in the fitness area. That was a riot. I have zero rhythm. No way would I do this in a class situation until I can figure out the steps. My oldest daughter kept looking at me like I had lost my mind. She kept telling me to do it like the ladies on the dvd.
