Not losing only eating 600 calories a day, anyone else experience this?
"I haven't went to the bathroom but only once since surgery" You had surgery 3.5 weeks ago with only one BM???????? This is not good, either there is a serious problem or you might take a 10 pound poop one of these days. Ask your doctor about the lack of movement.

They couldnt fill me!!!!
I had to pay for it, so far my copay was $627 for the hospital, versus almost $6K for the band surgery. I was admitted at 11am and discharged by 2:30pm, twilight sedation, no abdominal gas, sent home with liquid codeine. Only took it the first night.

They couldnt fill me!!!!
I just had port revision surgery last week, port flipped too. The surgery was no big deal only a few days until I was feeling better.

Flipped Port :( ???
Sorry everyone I have been so busy, I just wanted to follow up. I went in for port revision surgery yesterday at noon. They put me under sedation (no breathing tube) and I was done with surgery within an hour, discharged by 3pm. My surgeon also did a 1cc fill. I don't know yet if I have any restriction. He cut into my large incision and extended it a little bigger. I was told no shower until Sunday! Ugh! Doctor called me a few times yesterday but I was sleeping drowsy off the meds. He called me today and said the port was flipped, that the anchors only deployed 2/3 way (Yes it is a Realize-C band). He said he used sutures this time to anchor the port and it should not be going anywhere. I think the port flipped the day of surgery, I am a side and stomach sleeper and I slept on my side since day 2 post-op. I remember checking out my tummy area after surgery and noticing a bulge where my port is, I think it was on it's side at that point. Other than that the revision surgery was a piece of cake, I am a bit tired and on liquids for two days but other than needing a good shower I am doing well!

Flipped Port :( ???
Went to get my first fill and my surgeon bent 4 needles trying to access, xray under flouroscopy looks like the port is fine, but it could be flipped? My surgeon said I will have to go back into surgery to fix it. DANGIT!!!

Banded 2006-I hate my band
Wow that is crazy that you went so long un-guided. I can't imagine! Keep on studying and hopefully we hear this story turn into a success for you!

Any ideas behind this reasoning...
"His way of doing things after surgery doesn't seem to go along with a lot of what I'm reading here." Interesting, I read this forum for 3 months pre-surgery and I was under the assumption no fill until 6 weeks was the normal. My surgeon does not do a fill until at least 6 weeks because your stomach needs time to heal?

Confused and discouraged
GIRL !!!! I was banded a day after you, I am also down 20 pounds but I am psyched! 20 pounds in 5 weeks that is like 4 pounds a week. It took me 3 months to lose a solid 7 pounds pre-op. 20 pounds is a big deal, go to the store and grab a 20 pound bag of dog food and walk around the store for 15 minutes!!!

Confused and discouraged
When I was considering whether to get banding or bypass, I was told by my surgeon and the head nutritionist at the weight loss center that I should NOT get banded if I am a grazer. I am not a grazer, I have portion control issues. I was told grazers have a hard time losing weight with the band because they often find ways to cheat by snacking throughout the day. Unless you are willing to give up your snacking ways you will probably struggle. You should have a protien drink twice a day and 3 small (satisfying to your cravings) nutritious meals (protein first). You can do it!

Traveling/Vacation 2 weeks after surgery?
I think your going to have a very hard time. You will still be healing from surgery (which takes about 6 weeks) and your energy level will be very poor from the lack of calories. From weeks 2 to 3 I went back to work and I was exhausted. My advice would be to cancel the trip.

Feeling Unwelcome Here
Cyber Bullying is not a new phenomenon. It is amazing what some people say under the cover of anonymity. The ironic part is most of the people here were probably subject to being picked on and ridiculed due to former or current obesity issues. Shame on them. I wouldn't leave, ignore what they say, and stick to the topics that help you. I am annoyed myself about the anal sex topic, I find it offensive and childish and will not even read topics like that.

Need protein supplements with stevia
Maybe try unflavored powder, spruce it up yourself with Stevia and some SF pudding powder in a magic bullet?

HELP!! 2 weeks post op and strong abdominal pain!
Could it be lactose intolerance from your protein drinks?

Why so many Pre-Ops in the Post-Op section?
I have a tendency to agree with the poster. If you are pre-op maybe you shouldn't respond to post-op threads. It makes it look like there are informative responses in the thread but it's not the case. Then again, some people don't like being the first to respond to a thread, so the unbanded response makes the thread more inviting. When I was pre-op I kept the post-op trolling stealth!!
