December sleevers How are you all doing ?
Sleeved 12/31, eating yogurt, pureed beans, miso soup, hot tea and canned fruit like peaches in lite syrup blended with ice. Was also able to eat a scrambled egg with 2 tbsp of garlic hummus. I add a scoop of Nectar isoprotein to everything to keep up on my protein levels. I have my follow up tomorrow. Feeling tired, still very tender.

sleeved dec 31...and OUCH
Biggest problem is the pain. Was converted from band and had a hernia repair. Was released jan 2 cuz I couldn't keep down liquid. Now I'm thirsty but the pain of my incisions makes it hard to want to stay up and drink my fluids. Also, any advise on all the sweets I'm drinking? Crystal lite, protein shake, sugar free jello....yuck...I'd suck on a steak just for the savory juice!!

PRE OP DIET SUCKS!
Hello, I'm new to the forum. I'm having my lap band converted to the sleeve Dec. 31. I wasn't asked to do a pre-op diet, but I am putting myself on one any way for a week. I have everything for a full liquid diet. I'm very excited, and also nervous. Any helpful hints on some pre-op diet recipes???

Banded yesterday - June 14th - recovery ?s
banded the 14th as well, did horrible last week was huring sooo bad, sunday went to a neighbors and she had fresh fruit so i chewed the tarnations out of it, went down no problem, then monday my hubby takes me and the kids to chick-fil-a, says "heres dinner"! i was starving so i tried one of their chx wraps, got three bites down ok but the fourth came back up, so back to the shakes, then yesterday i tried to have 3 bites of it, no problems, lunch was homemade chx stripes i ate it no problem, i woke up really late so dinner was much later, we had sushi rolls, the rice killed me the first bite so i peeled off the rice and chewed the avacado and tuna no problems. today i had a protein smoothie for breakfast/lunch then ate 6 bites of a steak!!! bad move, my chest and sides are hurting, threw up twice!! for dinner he sushi again, took off the rice and it did ok. i feel so foolish and ashamed for eating this stuff, i realize that the pains im having are tellin me im not ready to eat any of these harder foods!! i can already tell rice is OUT!! and beef and i may not end up on good terms either. tomorrow back to full liquids, my first follow up is at 230pm as well, im embarrassed to tell my doc i did this to myself but now im worried about wether or not my band has slipped or if my stomach has strectched??? HELP!!!

the post op journey
aside from downing my pain meds every 4 hours on the dot... i have managed to keep down 2 protein shakes and about 8 bites of chicken noodle soup. been sipping on water all day. lots of gas pains in my chest. feel like a balloon full of bubbles lol. the place on my abdomen where the port is sewn to is the most tender and has the longest scar. i cried when i looked at it the first time, but my hubby came to my side and reminded me that it will heal and i wont notice it when i lose my weight. tired but cant sleep and would kill to burp lol!! truckin along....

Forbidden Foods
im on day 3 of my liquid diet from hell lol last week, before the diet, i went to an all you can eat sushi restaurant (my weakness in life!!) and ate myself sick....literally. i loved every sinful bite!! but now i know that the next time i go, i wont have to spend a fortune on a million rolls cuz i can order one hand roll (no rice) and the nigiri without the rice balls, and spend like $9!!! sushi, sashimi, nigiri and anything salmon or tuna are my favs! now i can eat them in moderation. im limiting myself to little to no carbs, not a big soda drinker, and homemade fruit smoothies have replaced my ice cream fix. plus the myoplex lite chocolate fudge protein drinks are amazing when blended with ice and some fresh mint, just like a mocha frappacino from starbucks. i have just been really creative in my liquid diets ( french onion soup with no cheese and fresh onions, miso soup with sarracha for a kick, chx broth with tomato slices) im excited and my husband and kids are even talking a liking to the new recepies im creating for after the surgery. i believe with all my heart that food is the fuel, and no fatty greasy cheese burger is going to taste better than being able to run around at football games with my sons (my incentives and motivation). im personally afraid to indulge in foods that i know i cant stop eating, chocolate, cake, fried chicken, loaded potatoes, alfredo sauces, cheese...all these things are for now OFF LIMITS. maybe a year or so down the road when i feel i have more control over my relationship with food will i induldge. but for now, nothing tastes as good as being healthy! we can do this!!! i know it!!
