When Will I See What Everyone Else Sees?
I want to see what everyone else sees!! I have been banded for 19 months and I am down 161.5 pounds!! It is absolutely amazing and I am almost half of the old me. 18.5 pounds to go. I feel fantastic and I know that I look good from the compliments I get. But WHY when I look in the mirror I still feel like I have so much farther to go...still the FAT girl! The flabby bat wing arms...the saggy thighs and the rolls of hanging skin on my stomach. With clothes on, it doesn't look so bad. Shapewear can fix almost anything! Will I ever be happy with my body? I know that plastic surgery is in my future and with it I know that I will look great but even then will I always see that FAT girl in the mirror??? I know that even the smallest of women find faults in their bodies. I know I will never be satisfied 100% with my body...but it's my mind that needs alterations!! Please tell me that I am not alone and that it does GO AWAY. -Sherry.

WANTED PIC!! A woman who is 5'9 or 5'10 and weighs exactly 200 pounds
I have been on my journey for 16 months and have went from a size 24 to 14. I weighed 359 and now weigh 200.5. I am looking for a picture of a woman that is the same height and weight as me to compare myself with. I am having a really hard time seeing the true me in the mirror. I still see the old fat me!! So if you are 200 pounds and 5'9 or 5'10 and would like to contact me with your picture I would be grateful. I would love to see what I really look like in comparison to someone the same size...Thanks so much.

Slimband?
To Regret...I am sorry for your experience with Slimband. I however have had a good experience so far. I had my surgery in June 2010 and it was the few months left of surgery with an empty band. My band was empty after my surgery and I didn't need a fill for 3 months and even then it was only 2cc's and I didn't need another one for 3 more months. Some people are sensitive and I am sure that if I had the surgery in August 2010 or after where they fill your band to the "ideal" sweet spot I wouldn't have been able to eat or drink anything either as I could barely eat or drink with just the band on my stomach. Have you had any success with a refund? Ohaw

any June 2010 Bandsters?
Hey, I was banded on June 23. 2010 and I will never look back! I am down 145 pounds and have 35 more to go to my goal. May change it when I get there to more but for now just one step at a time. I was a size 24W and now a 14/16 depending on the brand name. I am 5'9" so that has really helped me hide my weight for years. I am at the point right now where I am truly lost at shopping. I haven't been this size since I was in grade 8 or 9 and that was 18 years ago so the stores that exist now did not then and I am now small enough that plus size stores are too big...so I don't know where to go! I live in Nova Scotia, Canada if anyone has any suggestions I should be super excited right now but instead I am super terrified!! Sherry.

Hypo-Thyroid Bandsters
I eat a cup of food every meal and one snack. I eat a protein shake for breakfast...one cup of 1% milk, scoop of protein powder and 1/2 banana. For lunch I could eat soup, rice, pasta, anything really but I make sure there is a protein on my plate and for supper I eat any meat to half a cup and then have veggies and my starch. I love deviled eggs for my snacks and cheese sticks. I drink sugarfree juices like crystal lite or koolaid. I gave up bread because my band doesn't like it but i do eat biscuits, wraps and english muffins. No food is off limits I just measure to one cup and will not eat it unless there is a protein. I do exercise but it's not traditional...my job is active...I am a preschool teacher and care for 8 children...they keep me on my toes and my daughter is almost 4 and she does the same thing evenings and weekends So always on the move.

Hypo-Thyroid Bandsters
i have had hypothyroidism for almost 15 years...I had my surgery 13 months ago and I am down 148 pounds. My low acting thyroid has not slowed my weightloss down so far. I have 32 left to lose to reach my goal. I hope that it doesn't decide to kick in now! Have faith...I am one success story of someone with hypo!
