Why cant I burp???
hi all it is now 4 days post-op for me and i have one major problem...I CAN NOT BURP! I so wish i could to help get rid of all this gas it just sits in my tummy and then goes to my shoulder. I can flatulate (fart) but no burp and it really hurts if i try. Will I ever be able to burp again??? Has anyone had this problem? If only i could burp then I know that I wouldn't be having so much shoulder pain

totally bummed out.
i was banded on Aug 26th and the day after surgery i totally broke down while having breakfast with my husband... all i could eat was broth and jello and he was able to eat all that he wanted i felt like i had lost my best friend, here i was in pain and had no way of comforting myself the way i used to. my hubby got so sad he quit eating and that made it worse. but every day is getting a little better. i so cant wait till i can have more than just clear liquids  Good luck to you things will get better!

Hello everyone!! I'm back and banded! had a wonderful trip to Mexico had a wonderful time at the hospital everyone was super nice and took care of me very well. Aside from shoulder pain I am doing very well. I was expecting much worse but Praise God I am not having nausea, abdominal pain or anything else. I do have mild port pain only when i cough or laugh. port flipped?????
I think that if you have your fill tomorrow then it would be best to wait till you see what your doctor says dont work yourself up over a flipped port so soon. your only 6 weeks post op what do you think you did to cause a flip? from what i understand they sew the port to the muscle so it would be very hard to filp it...Just take a deep breath relax and know that even if it is flipped they can fix it

would you have surgery if you had infection?
From what i have been told if you have fever they will not do surgery on you and if you already have an infection they will want it cleared up before they continue....just concentrate on getting better right now you dont want to jepordize your over all health.

what was/ is your pre op diet?
i have been doing a low carb/high protein for the past 23 days to "shrink my liver" but havent lost pounds and highly doubt that i have shrunk anything from what i hear it takes months to "shrink" a liver after it's been fatty for years....

4 Days Pre-Band can i eat salmon?
I think it would depend on if your on a pre-op diet and what kind...I am doing a low carb pre-op and i sure can eat that but if your doing all liquid then i would say not.

Isopure - zero carb or low carb -- liquid or powder
I really enjoy the strawberries and cream, cookies and cream and dutch chocolate...I also have the RTD punch flavored kind that i will use right after surgery during my clear liquid phase...yumm

can I pre-mix protein drinks??
Depends on the brand i think....I use Isopure and i can pre-mix it tastes fine but they will start to smell funny if you do to much at a time just keep them in the fridge...
