Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
I feel dreadful, assuming this is normal. I haven't managed to keep anything down all day except a cup of hot boiled water! Hoping this will ease up in a few days but it isn't very pleasant! :sneaky:

Hello all I've just seen Frederik in London for my 2nd fill. In went 2 mls and oh boy I definately have restriction now! So I have 5mls in and I have been fortunate to have lost every week for the last 12 weeks so hoping this will keep me going until November 28th when I have my last one before going away on hols. Target to lose before the 14th December is 50 lbs. Have a good day and take it easy those that have just been banded. Best wishes Claire

Does anyone REGRET getting banded and why?
Absolutely no regrets. Banded end of July by Dr Chris and his fab team. In twelve weeks lost 34 pounds and approx 31 inches. So definately no regrets from this quarter! Gas pain and pain on my right hand side rather than port side. They will look fater you interms of fluids and pain relief you just need to ask and they will give you them through an IV. Didn't fly to Belgium went by Eurostar but there were others who did fly the next day just be aware that you will feel tight in the abdomen area. After all it is surgery and your body needs time to recover. Hope all goes well in November. Best decision you can make if you want to take control and have ownership over your body and your weight again!

Dr Chris De Bruyne & Frederik Serneels
What a load of utter rubbish, you need to visis this thread http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f11/anyone-know-dr-de-bruyne-chris-41669/index688.html I had my band on the 30th July 2010 and since then, which is now 11 weeks, I have lost 33 pounds and 29.5 inches I think your doctor is talking out of his  arse (sorry if this upsets anyone) What a T * * T I think he needs to get his facts straight. The band is a tool and when you put in the right amount of good nutrition then it rewards you by helping you to lose weight. Obviously you can still eat rubbish but there are certain things that will be hard to digest and the above thread and others on the forum will help you with this. You have to do what is right for you and only you can make that decision. Your GP is entitled to their view but they could at least be better informed about the outcomes of a gastric band. It's the best thing I have ever done and wish I had done it earlier. There are lots of people on the other thread who will also say the same. Dr Chris is brilliant and the team are very caring and look after you very well. HTH Claire

Food was never my issue just the lack of activity due to my knee. So not all of us are here because of food. I do put my hand up to liking chocolate and a good glass of red wine! I was never the 3am fridge grazer the NHS Consultant labelled me as as I am so busy and used to be fast asleep. One of my clients actually said to me that she didn't think I ate enough (she's a nutritonist). When I tried a high Protein diet with low carbs I lost quite a lot of weight (3 stone) but then gradually after the knee op just couldn't maintain the loss or add to it. Since the band I have cut out alcohol, foods such as Pasta, bread, chocolate, bananas, steak, rice krispies. I only seem to have Soup, chicken, lots of vegetables, brown rice, weetabix, porridge, pureed fruits (baby range), stews, chilli, I had chicken fajitas minus the wraps the other evening. Again I have noticed that when I manage to eat a proper meal (very small portion) I lose slightly more in the week. Our bodies need good, quality, highly nutritious fuel in order to function.

Hello All I haven't had a good day. The stress is mounting as I am trying to finish my diploma coursework, have a new job with so much school preparation etc and a 10 year old that is behaving like a teenager! Bl***y hormones! Stress really made my band very reactive today at lunch time and it wasn't pleasant believe me! I had to come home from school as I couldn't stop heaving. Finally, after about an hour I lost my boots and am now feeling a little better. But it was awful. I agree that it some days one thing will go down really well and other days it may be quite the opposite! Just a complete nightmare. Wish I hadn't got out of bed!! Anyway, upward and onward - come on Marine don't let the side down. Have a good evening all.- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
So it's that time of the week again, weigh day! It's a kinda magic! Yes it really is. I have lost 1.5 lbs and 3.5 inches. Absolutely brilliant. I must admit I am so careful over portion sizes and what I have. Still not really having lots of things that I need to chew loads, the odd chicken here and there. So really chuffed! Just happy that I have had a steady loss each week and that it is very gently coming off and I feel so much better, look better and have a boundless energy that I haven't had for a few years. So pleased that the band has been a positive addition to my life. I did think it might not work but actually the proof is there to show that it does and is and so pleased that no one can say well that was a waste of £x amount. Anyway, off to baby massage in the moment so shall close and come back and visit in the next few days. Take care and have a lovely day- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Congratulations that's great! Keep with the soup as I find it is my main staple at the moment and I am 10 weeks in. I have soup at school most days - just lots of different NCG ones. Keep us posted on your loss and stay positive.- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Happy Birthday hope you had a super day.- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Well done and excellent that you are feeling so much better. Well done on the loss it will keep going now if you are really careful and eat sensibly. Well done!- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Morning all Well I had my fill last Thursday with Chris and he asked me not to be disappointed. I am delighted as it is weigh day today and I have lost another 3 lbs and 2.75 inches. So I am really pleased! How has it been well I have tended to stick to Soup for the week. I have had crackerbreads with some homous or philli cheese. But I haven't really had lots of solid food. I did have dinner the other evening which was cottage pie, peas and carrots. I have taken to having pureed baby fruit as I love fruit and am missing it like crazy. First day after the fill wasn't pleasant as a few things tried to get stuck (I think I was rushing between classes etc) but after this I was more careful and stayed clear of certain things. One of my colleagues at work asked me about my appointment on Thursday she didn't know what I had gone for and I don't like to fib so I just asked her if she could see a difference. She guessed sraight away that it was weight related and has enough savvy to know that if it has come of this quickly and said gastric band - I was so shocked and wanted to know who she knew that I knew! We are a small place and everyone knows everyone. But to her credit she said no what are women most hung up about their weight, their image or their hair and clothes! We are quite fickle aren't we!! So she was really curious asking lots of questions and like she said to me you only ever read about people having it done in magazines and never know someone in "real life" so she was asking me loads of things. I must add she is skinny as a rake! So two at work now know and they are both really supportive. So looking forward to my next fill at the end of October and hoping that I keep losing. I would love to hit the US at least 50 lbs lighter and have some half decent photos with Mickey Mouse! I know I'll eat these words! Have a lovely day.- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Wonderful, congratulations, enjoy - Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Hi Chris That's absolutely fabulous news! Well done!! I bet you are really chuffed!! I hit the two stone mark today so really pleased. Take it easy and look after yourself.- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Yes I did and the charge was £24.00 for the full amount they were very thorough and wanted to know who, what, why, where. I didn't enlighten them what it was for just said medical. HTH I used the bank as I felt it was a little more secure. Don't know anything about Western Union. What do they charge for this service?- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
How are you managing to eat this? I tried some sausage the other evening, chewed like crazy and paid for it losing my boots completely! Wasn't pleasant. Had to wait an hour or so and then had a yoghurt to help calm my insides. Doesn't the above stuff get stuck?- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Depends on who you are booked with. With Dr Chris everything is in so just need any money for bits on the way there and way back. My husband came with me so we had some Euros so that he could get food etc. As everything is included in the price except Breakfast at the hotel then we didn't really need anything extra. I didn't take the surgery money with me I did a bank transfer via my branch and knew that it was all paid for in advance. I didn't want the added risk of carrying so much! It's natural to feel nervous but it is the best decision you can make. I have had my band for 8 weeks and so pleased as I have lost 27 pounds so nearly 2 stone and 25.5 inches. So really pleased with this. There are lots of posts on here about what to take. e.g. Baggy trousers with expandable waist, cuppa Soups, a mug to make it up in and painrelief that can be dissolved or liquid as the pain relief the hospital give you are effervescent and took ages to get down. I also took my partner as I knew I would need to have support getting home. So glad I didn't go on my own it would have killed me! Probably plenty more things but I am sure others will add to this. Good luck and enjoy.- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Booked in for 11 o'clock as I have to be back in Northampton to teach a Parentcraft class and then two yoga classes. So quick whizz in and whizz out. Hopefully the same in November. Very impressed with the set up and couldn't quite believe how many people they see in the time they are there. So if there are 6 people an hour and appointments from 11 - 4 thats a lot of people in 5 hours (give or take a break for lunch)!- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Hello All I had my 1st fill today in London at Upper Wimpole Street. I went early and then had a little treat doing some retail therapy (only bought 3 gingerbread men in John Lewis for the children and Mark) and had lunch there as well. That was lovely I had tomato and basil soup and then walked out onto Cavendish Square and up Harley Street and then cut across onto Wimpole Street and then Upper Wimpole. Very easy and quick, although the rain was dreadful! Very professional service at the Vein Clinic. It was lovely to meet other band clients and share. I had my fill done by Chris Dupres - very pleasant and exceptionally professional. Fill didn't hurt just took a while to get in. But fine. I could feel the fluid going in (bit odd) but all ok. He was impressed with how much I had lost in terms of weight and inches. So I had fill today and am booked again for the 28th October and then I will go again on the 25th November and then wait until January as we are away. Will post tomorrow as it's weigh day. Not holding my breath as I have had an awful week and felt really poorly with this horrible virus! Don't think I will have lost anything at all. Anyway take care.- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Book direct cut out the middle man and get a fully inclusive package that you know you have apid for upfront. Best thing about the band - you lose weight! So pleased I went over at the end of July and had it done. Also really glad I had my husband with me! Good luck and see if Frederik can take the booking for the same date and cancel with the other company. HTH- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
I went in to have a chat with ours as he had referred me to the NHS and they had refused due to not having any additional illnesses e.g. diabetes, heart problems etc. He said to let him know how it all went and was very interested. I did have an appointment after I had the surgery and he was very interested and obviously checked me over and wanted to know about Belgium etc plus what I had lost up to that point (i had just lost my first stone!) so he was really pleased for me and very positive. Hope all goes well Take care- Dr Chris De Bruyne & Frederik Serneels
The Campanile in Vilvoorde. If you book direct with Frederik then the hotels and taxis are included in the package. Less hassle and easy of you are flying or taking the train to Belgium. HTH- Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Morning all What a beautiful day... Washings out, children in school, all organised for my lovely day I am going to spend with babies doing massage and it's weigh day. I am so chuffed I have again lost 4.5 lbs and 3.75 inches - this is just brilliant. A total loss of 25.5 pounds and 21 inches in 7 weeks! I am going for the fill next Thursday so hoping that this will continue the loss. I can't believe I am just flabbergasted that I am still losing. It's great and yes I know I could have a reality check and big bump to earth and suddenly stop losing but that's fine we'll work with it. Anyway, have to dash as lots to do, life just got a little manic. Hope everyone is ok and good luck to those about to change their lives forever. - Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
