The Dreaded Stall
Your calories seem extremely low...300-500. I am also 4 weeks out tomorrow, I am getting around 70 grams of Protein now and eating around 700-900 calories. It looks like you might need more dense Proteins like chicken breasts, ham, turkey or some lean ground beef. I am new at this sleeve crap so I am only guessing. As far as I can tell getting too few calories stalls the weight loss process. I think I actually need to be closer to a 1000 a day. The information my nut gave me is that at 6 weeks I should be on a 1200 calorie daily diet with me getting 2x more protein then carbs if possible.

Thank You
Mary that is so wonderful to hear. Way to stick to your guns and use the information to make it happen. Congrats on your upcoming surgery and keep us posted.

What should I expect guys?
Sorry that made me giggle As for pain, I would say uncomfortable is more of the word most use. It is just an odd feeling of gasy bloatedness.

Need to vent
Heck I have gotten excited with every new item of food I can add to my menu! Worst case scenario...donate the left over cans to charity. It is a win win situation.

I need help...as always.
Are you taking a PPI? It may help with the hunger and the craziness of your tummy. I felt a world of difference when I started taking mine at around 10 days out. Ask your doctor if your not currently prescribed one. You can also pick a couple different kinds up over the counter if he gives you the go ahead. The soft mushy stuff goes down so much easier then the rest of my dense Protein so it may just be that also.

What's up with mushrooms?
Im only one month out and sauteed some up with some other veggies yesterday and I was fine. It is strange and random how some foods react with the tummies and for others nothing.

6 days post op and need help on diet!!!
You gotta get one of those tiny mesh strainers to get just liquid through it. Those big pot strainers will let stuff through. You may look by the cooking utensils for the mesh kind that is often used for canning.

finally found a way to tolerate my protein drink but =(
I like the muscle milk light premade protein drinks. I put them in the freezer about 20 minutes before I drink them because I like them extremely cold. The vanilla creme one is like heaven to me (i love vanilla anything). The chocolate is pretty good too. 100 calories and 21 grams of protein in each I think. You can get them in Walmart the cheapest.

Holy moley!!!
You lost 33 pounds in a single week or does that include the pre-op. That is an amazing number either way.

Finally found the food tracker that works for me

What a difference a week makes!
The more I think about it I have no idea if I gained immediately after surgery. I did not step on the scale until my 2 week appt. You would be amazed at how much can drop off in a week during this time :biggrin0:

Lawry's Sun Dried Tomato Marinade :)
I picked up some Lawry's Sun Dried Tomato Marinade today, you can use it on meat or veggies. I cooked up some bell pepper, some zucchini, white onion and some mushrooms. I sauteed the bell pepper, zucchini and onion for a few minutes in a bit of Water and non stick spray. Then I added a tablespoon of the marinade in the pan and continued to sautee, the last minute I added the mushroom and a tiny bit more of the marinade. They turned out delicious! The marinade has 15 calories in a tablespoon and only 2 grams of carbs. I ate the veggies along side a couple oz of Pollo Preperado (prepared chicken, from the local mexican meat market). It was a delicious and filling meal! :biggrin0:

Do you regret surgery and miss eating bigger meals?
I think you have to be prepared for the smaller portions and the break up of your food relationship. You should try to do this before the surgery, because of course it is too late once it is done. I think most of us (im only a month out) but those that are further out, successful and satisfied have made peace with it and have come to appreciate the healthier relationship and of course the thinner body is the absolute bonus. It is a big change and it is significant, just weigh the pros and cons and I think the smaller portions will always win !

Realistically.. what should I expect?
I think the post was from August of last year hun.

What a difference a week makes!
Well first off congrats and welcome home. I know that sleeping in my own bed and on my tummy made a world of difference in my mental state. I hear a lot of people gain weight with the surgery fluids and it is great that you have gotten rid of those and now everything you lose will be taking you further south on the scale. You sound like your chugging along, just keep up the work and keep us posted.

I am approved!
Congrats! Great news for you.

1 month post-op sleevers
I know exactly what you mean. This week my hunger returned and I discovered I can eat a lot more then a week ago. It has my head totally freaking out. I am taking this time to really focus on the eating and getting my lean Protein first, then my veggies. I was throwing some white carbs in there but I think I should know better that was always my down fall. I started over today with the protein and veggies ...screw the carbs for a while. I am nearly one month out (2 days until) and things have normalized. I started the gym today and I know as long as I keep that up and drinking my Water I should be good. I feel much like myself again. My skin has a glow to it that it didn't have before and I am moving forward. I can't believe that two weeks ago I was barely able to sip my fluids and my cream of chicken Soups were what I lived for :biggrin0:
