  1. Your BMI is pretty low I dont think you will need to worry about loose skin. If you carry most of your weight in your belly and the rest of your body is pretty small then you could possibly end up with some skin issues on your tummy but I dont think it would be a really bad case of loose skin. I had similar BMI and I am not having loose skin issues so far and I am down to 27 BMI. Exercise will help keep the body toned while you lose weight.
  2. I didnt realize they had so many calories, but I wasn't able to eat a full can at a time either way so I guess that might be why I didn't stress when I was on the creamed soups. I think I would eat maybe a can a day along with a couple yogurts at 2 weeks post op. I wouldn't worry about the carbs and fat unless you are getting a ton of food down, I think for the next couple of weeks your body may actually appreciate those things for some energy. Just my take on it.
  3. That is so inspiring to hear! Congratulations on all your hard work paying off. YAY
  4. YAY how exciting it is. Best wishes for your surgery. Get back to us when you get to the other side!
  5. Great job guys! Dansha...85 pounds HOLY CRAPOLA.
  6. I think it is very reasonable. You are a "lightweight" so I would say up to 25 would not be out of the question. I lost 15 pounds the first two weeks and I started at around the same BMI. I think Blackberryjuice and Sleeveorbust also started around the same BMI.
  7. Cindy prayers for you too. Keep us posted and have a great recovery hun.
  8. Yup gall bladders are tricky my mom kept complaining to her GP he tested everything was fine...she kept saying no im pretty sure thats what it is finally 3 weeks later she went to ER they got her right in and removed it and even though it tested fine it was terribly diseased and slimy stuck to her surrounding organs.
  9. Hey guys, I just wanted to see how everyone who had surgery in August was fairing? Please post your weight loss so far and anything else you want to share! Surgery was August 13th. 40 pounds lost as of 12 weeks.
  10. BUMP...anyone have any info on how JG is fairing? I sent a PM but it was on my mind this week.
  11. I am currently googling PCOS...I know what it stands for but not sure what it entails. EDIT: ok wow it sounds NO FUN at all. If surgery can help aleviate it that would be wonderful for sure! Good luck and best wishes.
  12. Funny thing my grandma just had a consultation about a little growth that was in her line of vision and the doctor is going to remove the excess skin on her eyes also since there is so much of it and it is hurting her vision also. Her insurance is going to cover it. I was like SCORE! LOL.
  13. Congrats and best wishes on a great recovery. Try not to get caught up worrying about what you can and can't eat in the future. I am eating everything I previously ate (minus the junk food usually) but I just eat smaller portions. I ate at Olive Garden and ordered from childs menu. I ate 3/4 of that bowl of pasta and four bites of salad. I did not have bread sticks this time because the last time I went I had a half of one and couldn't hardly fit any pasta down lol. We went to a birthday party last night. I had an average slice of thin crust pizza. No birthday cake though. Today was my sisters baby shower. I had a small helping of rice and beans, two bites of a tortilla and a couple oz of shredded beef. I did take three bites of the cake an hour later. So now that the special occasions are over I will be good this week and eat my normal diet but you can always eat your faves....just wont have room for much of it! It is wonderful.
  14. STILL NOT WORKING!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRR
  15. One month has been great for you! What is the total pounds lost thus far?>
  16. Wow only 15 weeks and look at you. You look GREAT! Keep doing what youre doing and keep working on making yourself happy.
  17. Ohhh thank you all so much. I was seriously nervous about putting my pics out there and you guys made my day. I seriously had a smile on my face all day even though I was busy and stressing on some stuff. It was great to just know that I am finally in control of my body and appetite instead of it controlling me. Looking back now at my portion sizes I was a large portion eater for sure. That is what was driving me to gain more and more weight. I see now that my portions are normal (probably even smaller) and it feels good to have a taste of what i want and just be able to put it aside. I also have been able to realize some things like chocolate candy bars from halloween should never never be in my home lol. A.walker your comment about my before pics really touched me. I thank you so much. Your 70 pound weight loss is so awesome and you had surgery only 2 weeks before me. ROCK ON.
  18. Yay! Sleeve your results are awesome but I know you are working that sleeve too. Great job.
  19. It is used for anxiety. Doctors often give it out the night before surgery to help a person calm their nerves and get some sleep. People that have anxiety attacks also use it most doctors just have you use it on an as needed basis. If you feel anxious or an panic attack coming on they say to chew it up (so it works faster) and then it will take the edge off. Xanax makes people a bit hazy but if you are truly in an anxious state you don't really feel that side effect. It is widely misused by teenagers who get ahold of it and they actually buy it off the streets because it gives them a bit of a high especially if they take more then a couple or add alcohol to the mix. Ativan is another one for anxiety it causes more of a drowsiness but less of the buzz then Xanax and therefore less addictive it seems to be prescribed more then xanax these days. ALL OF THAT IS MY OWN PERSONAL INFO::: I am not a doctor heheh
  20. OMG i would totally freak out if I had a reaction like that. I am glad you were able to stay calm though that had to be a long sucky night! I say hold off on the cereal/milk for a bit longer, you sure as heck dont want to experience that crap again. Good job on the pulling up your boot straps and getting away from the junk food. I know you inspired me to get rid of the candy last week and move forward too. DANG HALLOWEEN lol. I did realize something yesterday though...I haven't had a donut since pre-op and that in itself is a freaking miracle for me. I always love donuts and I have even taken my boys to get a donut 4-5 times over the last three months and I did not get one! YAYA. It is these small things we are accomplishing that we have to recognize and it helps us be more aware of old habits creeping back in doesn't it?
