Wow.. not sure where to start with my story.  It's been a long road and a disappointing one at that, but I'm working to change that.  about 3 years ago I went in for Lap Band surgery.  At first, things were great.  I was losing weight and feeling good about everything.  After a couple of months though, I went in for an appointment and the Dr. reccommended a fill... I didn't know any different, and figured there was no way he could have gotten it filled exactly perfect on the first try so I didn't think twice about it.  Looking back now, I can see that I should have been more diligent about my appointments.  After that fill swallowing water was even hard... eating even harder.  You would think that not being able to eat I'd lose weight - nope... not gaining but holding steady for the last 2 1/2 years.  I gave up and resigned myself to the idea that I was never going to lose the weight and the discomfort I felt (heavy mucus, hiccups, other issues I won't gross you out with...)
Then I found this site.
Turns out that my issues could be explained by a band that is too tight.  I'm headed back to a new doctor (my surgeon is no longer part of the bariatric surgery group) and hopefully will determine a better solution that "ignore it and it will be fine"
