yea it does take a while to get an appt. Mine is also scheduled for mid Dec. I am going for a tummy tuck as well..

Has anyone used this surgeon? I've heard he's the best in Houston. Just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with him.

Anyone have any pointers for us "high pound seekers" (i.e. 15lbs or more) that would help us get the scale moving? I seem to get stuck at the same weight for a month or so and im hoping by doing this challenge it would help me see what im doing wrong.

Im not sure what to do but it sounds like fun. This would be my 1st challenge. I am trying to loose about 15lbs

This is soo weird!! For me I start to hiccup!! I never noticed that it was my sign of full until I read another thread on here as a sign to watch out for. So ever since then is when I noticed the hiccuping.

Dont waste ur time going to True Results-Houston if you were not banded thru them. They dnt see outside patients. Im one of their patients and I havent had...No let me rephrase that... they WILL NOT give me a fill since November! Saying that im tight enough but yet im alwayz hungry and im not losing any weight!!

This Dr's. fills are $300!! He will see patients not banded thru him as an "outside patient" meaning that he will NOT file thru the insurance and the visits are $300!

I was approved thru AETNA and only had to do 3 months of supervised visits and was then approved in less than 5 days after submission.

Ive been with AETNA since 2006-2007 but they had a clause that didnt cover the procedure. They just changed their policy in 2009 to cover weightloss surgeries and I jumped right on it and ended up having the procedure in March of 2010.

I went thru AETNA and it was a breeze. After my 3 month's of Dr. visits and completing all of the other requirements (EKG, Psych eval) my claim was submitted and approved in less than 5 days and I had my surgery 2wks later

Well I had my surgery last year, March 10th. I started out at 243 and I jus made it to ONEderland last week and now im at 197 as of this morning. My weight has been yo-yoing for the past 5 months and slowly droping. I wish it would jus fall off quicker than what it has but I am very grateful for the pounds that I have lost.

When you find out please let me know as well! When this question is asked, alot of the responses are refering us to some Dr. in Bryan, TX. or Tyler TX. but I was hoping to find someone closer IN the HOUSTON or immediate surrounding area. Houston is too big of a city to not have anyone here to do fills for other patients.

Before trying out the zumba class at the YMCA I pulled up a lot of videos on youtube just to get a feel of the types of moves that they were going to be doing...lol.... I felt so out of place my 1st time going but I had confidence about the moves because alot of them were the same as the ones I tried out on youtube. I love the fact that I "practiced" at home in the comfort of my own living room before going public with it. I really have no coordination/rhythm at all and definately not a dancer...lol When I cant make it to the YMCA I turn to youtube . There are alot of zumba videos that ive falling in love with on there.

Yes mam!!! I wouldnt have it any otha way and NO it is not more painful because once its numb its numb and u dont feel a thing!!!

The program that I went through did all of these prereq. for me at each visit. I had a 3 month medical supervised wait for insurance requirements and I didnt meet the surgeon until the week b4 my scheduled surgery.

Hi Malinda, I am still having a difficult time mixing unjury w/o screwing up my meals and drinks. How much do u actually use in your soups, jellos, and puddings. Are you using the whole scoop or do u sprinkle jus a little bit. Please help!

I love Leslie!!! I usually do her 4 mile super challenge and if im short on time then i'll do one of her 30 min 1 mile/2 mile walks on COMCAST on demand channel.

Well I opened my bill the otha day from AETNA and my surgery was $42,906.97!!! I am responsible for 15% of that so my out of pocket portion is $6,485.21. Luckily the business office screwed up on verifying my benefits and caught it the day before my procedure so I didnt have to pay upfront all of that money and am being billed for it. This is just the hospital portion not the DR.'s portion

Yes I did!!! And I was soooo sore for like 3-5 days!! Afta all the poke'n for like 30 mins my Dr. finally sent me to xray and they had to do it under fluoro. :scared2: Not a good feeling!!

Oh I forgot to mention that I am already banded. I was banded on March 10, 2010. I had my surgery date waay before my approval call.

Hi Ken, Im a little late to reply but I went thru True Results and I also have Aetna and I was approved rather quickly with a BMI less than 40. But anyway congrats on your approval . Advocate?? I NEVER MET my advocate.

I dont see what the big hoopla is over wanting to do your own fills as well!! I have a very close friend who's been banded for 4 yrs now and she does her own fills with ease!! She hasnt had any problems, infections, or any issues with doing this and her body looks awesome. When she's "stuck" she unfills herself, if she doesnt feel restricted enough she refills herself. Its not that big of a deal seeing as though her insurance coverage has changed and no longer pays for her fills so I dont blame her for doing them herself. BTW you dont have to order the products online, you can just drive to your local CVS and buy the sterile products over the counter from the pharmacy. Now have I attempted to do my own?... No I havent... Will I try to do my own fills or allow her to do them for me?.... In a heartbeat if I had no other choice.. To me it doesnt make sense to pay all this money for a tool to be installed and its just sitting in your body pretty much useless if your insurance no longer covers it... Just my opinion.
