    I think that is great as well. That was what my dr say a typical weight loss of 3 lbs a week was good. I agree that make sure you get your protein first and eat that mainly it increase your metabolism, but veg and fiber to keep your bm ok. I ate to much protein and nothing else the first week I could eat solids and man did I pay for it lol trish

I can understand I went crazy myself I just wanted something that tasted like dinner, and that is hard to fine on liquids. lol Im not loosing at the moment but I had my first ajustment and they had to take out a 1/2 cc cause it was to much but not Im not really feeling any restriction, so not sure what is happening. Im trying to exercise everyday so maybe that is part of it.Im not gaining either so I guress I shouldnt complain. It is interesting how every dr is different and how it affects everyone differently. I do realize that I have to make changes and this is not a quick fix. I still think I would do again though it has given me motavation and desire to make better choices. Did you try any of the recipes fron the lapband. com web site?? Im glad you pm me it is nice to have somene else who has been throught it to talk to and sicuss things thank trish

  3. Hey my doctor was the same way. I did three weeks of soft liquids and then right to solid he just said chew chew chew lol no puree or really mushy food strange

    Yes that was glad you realized. Im new to all this not sure how to respond to someone directly. I was only on liquids for a day after my fill, but evey doctor is different. Im sure you will do great. So did you decide how much you want to try to loose you have done great so far Trish

    I was told to plan for an average of 3 pound a week, that may be high but if you are following things and exercising I dont think it is to unrealistic. When are you scheduled for a fill?

    I want to join. I was shy 2 pounds of my mother's day challenge. I think I will shoot for 20. I know I have to get out there and exercise that will help me. I had my first fill and things are going good so far. Happy Mother's day to all you mothers as well trish
  8. I wouldnt worry either. U dont have much that is going through you it was well 3 weeks after my surgery before I had a Bm and I was eating soft food. I still only have them about once a week, and Im just one month out of surgery. When are u switching to solid food?
  9. Taco Bell worked for me while I was traveling. They will let you order a burrito without the tortilla. Family restaurants usually have soup and that works.

  11. hope all on this thread has been doing better. are we getting more sleep then before? I have one more week of soft liquids so looking forward to just having to chew some food.
  12. I'm down 2 yeah!! was at a standstill. I know for me it has been making sure I get 60-70 g of protein a day. Now just got to get alittle more exercise in as well. So where do I go to set up the tickers????? Thanks Trish
  13. that is great!!! have you done any crystal light single serving added to you water it helps give it a actual taste like something not water makes it easier to drink. I just try to make sure I drink 1 bottles aday somehow. Thanks for the information.
  14. After reading about how much Protein we need I made sure yesterday I got atleast 60 g I actually had 73 I could measure. I lost a pound and had been at a standstill for 3 days, so I think it did help. I found something in an old abs diet book about protein I will share "For one, protein helps kick-start your metabolism. It takes your body twice as much energy to break down protein as it does to break down carbohydrates, so when you eata high protein meal, you actually burn off additional calories at the dinner table." I thought it was helpful and I am going to continue trying to really keep track of my protein intake. banded 3/30/10 started 204 3/11/10 194:smile2:
  15. where did you get your whey powders especially the ids whey liquid protein 42 grams in 3 ounces ? Right now I just havea a vanilla one that has 26 grams per scoop. I know that protein is the trick, we need lots of it how long are you on clear/soft liquids? I have another 2 weeks then the dr said start eating slowly regular food, and to remember to chew, chew, chew. Im down 10 since surgery. Keep up the good work!!
  16. Congrats to you, I was banded on 3/30 so not that long ago. Like you Im excited to find this site it is really helpful. My doctor said walk , walk, walk, so I guess it does help. What is your food diet if you dont mind my asking?? Congrats on your quit smoking as well.

  18. So Protein is the trick I was wondering how much protein I need daily and now I have some answers. I'm a week and 4 days out of banded and have lost 9 since. Dr has me onsoft liquids til 4/26 will try to get more protein in. I have a Protein shake daily so that gives me 26 but I see I need to make sure I am getting more. thanks for your info guys!!! I'm really loving this site!!!!! So helpful!!!!!
  19. I'm new here so excited to find this site!!!:thumbup:I was banded 3/30/10 first fill is 4/30/10. I have been glued to this site since I found it such a great resource!!!! I'm in for the challenge I joined alittle late but lets try for 12 hope I can do it!!!
  20. I have just had lap band the 30th of Mar. Hadn't gotten alot of information before surgery so would love to have someone who has had success. I would like some knowlege of ideas of meals and would be great if they lived in northern Illinois so that maybe we could meet once in awhile would be nice as well. Thanks newbegins10
