To everyone that is having the surgery tomorrow. I wish you good luck and a speedy recovery. I'm being banded on July 14th. My preop diet started on july 5th and I have experience some hungry headaches when I don't stay hydrates otherwise I not all tha hungery and doing good. I've lost a couple of lbs to boot. Call your MD for clarification, you will find here that there is no set rule each doc is different. Congrats on being banded, I will officially be apart of the family on July 14th:thumbup:

"I am currently size 20 so I went and did a little shopping and bought a pair of size 16 skinny jeans as my first small goal. I hope to stay in touch with all you July banders to gain advice and support" Jerzeegator, I removed all of my winter clothes out of the clothes because I know by then they will be to big. Making remove for soon to be new purchases. I'm 2 days after you. Let's keep in touch.

Hi! Stared my Pre op diet today. Surgery on july 14th. I'm able to have 4 protein shakes a day 1 cup of salad and 1 cup of chicken broth for lunch and dinner. Good luck everybody

I'm from Katy, Tx I start my preop diet on July 5th and scheduled for surgery on July 14th by Dr Waggoner in Cypress. Excited and nervous.

My husband is retired and we have tricare in the south region. I had to appeal also in order to get approved. Once I sent in my letter that included my comorbities I was approved right away. My surg is July 14th. Good luck to those still trying to get approved.

I'm july 14th also. I was seen by the nutritionist and MD on 6/22. I start my clear liquid diet on july 7th.

Has anyone started to reduce there caloric intake prior to the preop diet. I've been trying some of the Protein shakes, found some chewable caclium tablets, chewable Vitamins and statred to use them. Just trying to get ready. Anybody else? My sister told me that I shouldn't lose to much weight prior to surgery BMI 40.1 b/c they may thing I can do it on my own. What do you think? My Doc has not required me to lose weight preop.

I worked around the house today. Had to go to Walmart three times. Hanging some blinds in the family room. Air Conditioner went out upstairs so this TX heat is really being felt. Repairman coming tomorrow and not a day too so. Surgery date July 14th which is 5 days before my daughters 9th birthday, so I'm feeling a little guilty about having my surgery so close to her birthday, I'm not sure how I will feel or be up to having her a party. So that's my thought for today..

Has anyone tried the Nectar brand, it's just like Isopure but has a sweet taste. I mix it with water and it eas great. Found it at Vitamin Shoppee and it was cheaper than the Isopure powder.

I've had hypothroidism for the past 9 years and got approved today. It's not a factor. I will ask the Dr office what is the hold up.

Hi Everyone, Just got approved today and my surgery date is July 14th. I'm excited and nervous. i had to go through an appeal process with my insurance and it paid off. I GOT APPROVED!!! Go luck everyone...

Congrats to those that have been approved. I just check Tricare website and it has a BIG FAT "D" on it DENIED. I have a BMI of 40 with some other health issues. I has a sleep study last Friday and still waiting on the results. I'm not sure well I eas denied. My Doc office is filing all the paperwork. I have an appt with the nut on Thursday, wondering if I should keep it?

I went to my consult Thursday, April22, Sleep study,April 23, nut appt schedule for April 29 and it shows need more info. with a ? mark on Tricare. Hope to be on the loser bench soon.
