  1. Let us know how it goes. I am excited to hear all about it.
  2. How are all the April Bunnies doing? Are we all done? Are we all here?
  3. My name is Alicia. I am 39 years old. I have been married for 16 1/2 years. I have 3 kids and work at my daughter's high school. I have been overweight as long as I can remember. I was banded on 4/6. I am glad to have these boards to talk to people and get all the support I can. Thanks!
  4. I would love to join in. I am 224 and would love to be 215. So 9 pounds. Thanks!
  5. Doing really good. Was traveling this weekend and ate a couple bites of burrito. Don't know if I didn't chew good enough or because it was fried but I had to pull the car over because I felt like I was going to throw up but just dry heaved and spit. Would I be sliming if I haven't had a fill? I kept burping but nothing happened. It was about an hour after I ate it but my stomach really felt lousy. Memo to self, fried food is no good. It just looked and sounded good. Any help would be appreciated.
  6. Post op was great. Get my first fill in a month. I am excited. More excited for mushy foods. Congrats to all who have been banded today. Can't believe that it has been two weeks into the start of my new life.
  7. Good luck to the upcoming bandsters and congrats to the recent banded. I am on my way to my postop appointment. I want them to tell me that I can have something to eat. I know they won't but I want to chew something.
  8. Welcome to all the newly banded! It is a great place to be. Ruby, please get better soon. I have a cold today. Wondering how it will be different. Have a great weekend everyone.
  9. It is still a little sore to lay on my port side (banded on 4/6) but is getting better. Pillow props are great. Anyone else have suggestions for getting bandages off nicely? They said to take them off when steri-strips start peeling but I took off two and started bleeding? Life is looking good!
  10. Congrats. That is awesome!
  11. Try some popsicles or some applesauce. Don't worry about drinking a ton. You can do jello, cream of wheat. You can do it.
  12. It has been a week today since I was banded. Still feel a little awkward in the port site but am doing good painwise. I feel a pain in sternum area when I drink too fast or eat too fast. I am still on liquid diets and I have been drinking/eating something every hour which helps with liquids. I don't have to finish my water. I miss what my family eats but am doing okay. Someone said they were bored with broth/water/crystal light. Try SF popsicles or cream of wheat. That has been really filling. Gross Question ahead though- have not had a BM since before surgery. is this normal? Good luck to all those coming up/ keep it up for all those who have been banded. I know that I can do hard things. We can do it together.
  13. I went through the "Last Supper" mentality after i was approved. Today is day 5 and my husband had spaghetti with garlic bread. I wanted to lick the garlic butter right off the bread. I am looking forward to a new week start. It should be good. Keep up the good work everyone!
  14. Thanks twincerely. I am going to GNC after daughter's soccer game. Looking forward to great relationship with this group. You guys rock. How is everyone feeling today? I feel good. Just banded on 4/6 and am sore at port site. A little sore in sternum. Not sure if that is from surgery or from gastroparesis. I got a pill splitter from Walgreens to cut my pills in half. It has been a life saver.
  15. Today is day 4. I was banded on Tuesday. I think I overdid it yesterday because it was hard for me to get up and move. I tried going back to work yesterday. I also need help with getting my protein in. I am okay drinking one protein shake but 3 make me want to cry.
  16. Got banded yesterday. Feeling groggy and a little pain in port area. I am not hungry. I am so excited for this new start. Love this group.
  17. I turn 40 in August also. That is what has put me over the edge as well. I am an emotional eater and am really working on my head. Let's help each other ! We can be fit and forty.
  18. I have been lingering and watching from afar. I am being banded on 4/6. I can't wait.
