  1. Lynn - I agree with Sula - you are being too hard on yourself. We are all in a struggle here, I think we all thought we would be at goal by now, or at least I did. But, I finally realized, its not a race, its my life. I will continue to try and I will get there some day. The beauty of the band is, it will continue to work, so it doesn't stop working at 1 yr, or 2 yrs, or even 5 years. For the last two weeks I've been exercising 5 times a week, so I've been trying to get back into the swing of thing. My biggest problem is EATING. I don't eat much I don't think, one plate and I'm done, where as before it was at least 2 plates. But, I eat the WRONG stuff! Sugar, yes, Sugar calls my name almost on a daily basis. Pies, cakes, cookies, they all call me, I love chocolate, man do I love chocolate. Its hard, but we can do it! We will do it, so hang in there and we'll all get there!
  2. You and me both. I envy those people too! If I don't try and "diet" and "exercise" I do not lose! I guess the good thing about the bad is I don't gain either. I might gain 10 lbs or so, but not like I did pre-band. I would gain 50 lbs in 2 months with no problem. It was horrible, so for that fact alone, I do love the band. I just want restriction! I can't believe its been a year and half and I'm still trying to get to my sweet spot, so frusterating. Well you might be right, cheesecake could be considered protein, hehehe.
  3. Well Body for Life is going "ok", I missed two workout this week, but none last week. I am about to head to the gym now - so I'm still trying. My eating just has been the struggle. Yesterday was cheesecake factory 30 yr anniversary and all the cheesecake was $1.50, so you know I had to go - ate me an entire piece of cheesecake for dinner - yes, I'm sure that will help me get to goal - NOT. So, it seems I have no will power with food these days, not sure what to do about it, but just keep trying to get back in the game. Such a struggle these days!
  4. Oh man, I wish sometimes I had that problem, then I would have good restriction. I've only PB'd once, and since then, nothing. I don't have to take small bites of food, I can eat anything. I usually have restriction for a little bit after a fill, but then a week or so later, NOTHING. I'm so frusterated. I go for my fill #11 - Yes, fill #11 next week, August 6th at 9 am. I'm at 3.9ccs in a 4 cc band and still barely any restriction. I've also already scheduled my fill #12 because I know I will probably have to have another fill after my fill #11. I wish and pray each time that this fill will do the trick, and it seems like it for awhile then zilcho, nothing. So so so frusterating. I want RESTRICTION!
  5. Gerio - I agree, the last 20 lbs are so hard to get off. I have about 30 lbs to loose! Angy - Well, the important thing is your healthy again. You can lose the weight you gained, and I'm glad you finally have a good doc, the last one sucked as you know. Louisianagirl - Hang in there, I know how you feel. Its been so long since I've lost - I keep losing the same 5 or 10 lbs. I finally go for fill number 11 next week. I so need it. I'm so discouraged about my fills, I get a fill, it works then it stops. It takes months before I can get in for another one. I started double booking my appointments, so I have one August 6, and another September 17th. I'm hoping my next one will be the one. I'm so close to getting to my sweet spot, it might only take a few drops to get me there.
  6. OMG - your story is my story! I'm 18 months post op, but I was the opposite a little of you. My 1st 6 months I gave it my all, and then after an accident I had to have surgery and I just started eating whatever I wanted, when I wanted it, and absolutely no exercise. I'm now at 18 months and haven't lost weight in a year. So, I just had this talk with my self this week. I headed back to the gym on Monday and have been there every day this week so far. I've started planning my meals out again, and eating good stuff. I feel better already!

On 7/18 it was m7 18 mo anniversary. I'm keeping track of my weight month by month. As bad as it is, I want to see where I've come from and how far I need to go, and how my eating is effecting my weight. Although I haven't lost weight in awhile, and keep yo yoing around the same 10 lbs. I'm overall happy with the lap band. I don't blame the lap band for my no weightloss lately, I blame myself - I have to try a little harder than I have been doing, exercising is needed and eating lean proteins. Even though I've been stuck for months, I'm happy that I'm not over 200 lbs. My history before lap band, If I wasnt trying, I gained like crazy, could gain 20 lbs in 1 month. So for that, I love the lap band. I'm not giving up and I'm going to hit goal by my 2 year anniversary, this is something that I am determined to do! Highest weight - 248 1 mo post op - 206.8 2 mo post op - 198 3 mo post op - 193 4 mo post op - 184.2 5 mo post op - 178 6 mo post op – 174 7 mo post op - 178 - went on vacation and ate big (7 day cruise) 8 mo post op - 174 9 mo post op - 170 10 mo post op- 167 11 mo post op - 170 - haven’t even been trying 12 mo post op - 174 - again, not trying. But finally refocused - exactly where I was at 6 mos post op – so basically no weight loss in the past 6 mos 13 mo post op - 183 - Ouch! started taking steroids and made my weight go up, along with not eating right and no exercise! 14 mo post op - 185 - grrrrr 15 mo post op - 180 - weight is finally going down, but inches are actually coming off faster since I've been exercising a lot. 16 mo post op - 178 17 mo post op - 175 18 mo post op - 179- still not focussed:sad:

My activities for Wednesday 7/23/08 I started another BFL challenge on Monday, it is 84 days and I'm hoping it will get me back in the grove of exercising. Today was the lower body workout, I went to the gym and gave it my all. My knee just wouldn't let me do some of the stuff, and when I felt pain, I had to stop because I didn't want to damage it further. I was afraid pushing myself/my knee/ would cause a set back, so I held off on some of the stuff I wanted to do Quads - leg presses Hamstrings - lying leg extentions, straight leg dead lifts Calfs - calf raises Abs - ab crunches with 10 lb weights, and inclined sit ups Menu bfast - cottage cheese mixed with yogurt snack - 3 strawberries lunch - whole wheat tortia, 3 oz chicken breast and hot pace picante sauce snack - necterine dinner - 3/4 cup of pinto beans wt - didn't weigh, trying not to focus on the scales for the next couple of weeks and really focus on feeling better and exercise.

  11. Hello everyone, just swinging by to update and see what is going on. I started another body for life challenge yesterday, I just have to do something. I figured out that I haven't lost any weight in 1 whole year! Yep, 1 year since I've lost weight. I've been yo yoing the same 10 lbs for a freaken year! Well, its actually been 10 months, but you might as well say a year! Maria - wow, I can't believe your 32 weeks already, I know you are ready to have the baby - I remember the unconfortable stage, it wasn't fun. Shawn, you sound very busy. I know my mother has horses and they do take a lot of time, but she wouldn't trade it for the world. Her horses are her babies! Well, I will check in later. My life is so busy at work.
  12. Tracy - Wonderful about your mother! I know you have been so stressed and worried, so I'm so happy that she is cancer free! You guys are all doing awesome on your weightloss too!
  13. Clockeeper - You know, I give up on listening to all the different advice, some say circuit train, some say do the HIIT and your burn my calories, then I read studies say you dont blah blah blah. They key is find some type of exercise you like, if its running, do it. Your more likely to stick to it if you like it. I think you will have better long term success doing something you enjoy. Some people love to run, some like to walk, others love to bike. Me, I can't run now that i have had knee surgery. I tried to cycling classes, hurts my butt and just can't do it, but I love the elliptical, so that is what I'm sticking with. Any type of exercise is good, as long as your consistant with it, I believe that is the key. Now to answer your question, from what I have read, running is the fastest way to lose weight, Brisk walking is better for your heart. For me, I can't do either, so I chose the elliptical, its a combination of both and it doesn't hurt my knees. Best wishes to you

Well, I finally made it back to the gym last night. I did about 35 minutes on the elliptical machine and burned over 300 calories. I'm trying to get back to where I was before, when I was losing my weight, I was exercising and planning my meals out. Today's menu Bfast - coffee/southbeach protein bar Lunch - salad with chicken Dinner - turkey and tomatoe with mozerella cheese (1 oz) Exercise:

  20. Hi Jodie, I bought my Designer whey at Walmart - How are you doing since surgery? The first 2 weeks are the toughest, liquids only -yuck. After that, when you get mushies, I felt like I at least had a little bit of food and did fine with the mushy stage, I lived off Taco Bueno refried Beans. A small container (.99 cents) would last me two meals.
  21. Back from my cruise and back to the Lap band eating. My eating was HORRIBLE during the cruise, and my exercise has been ZERO. I'm refocussing and getting another fill August 6th. Until then, I'm eating lean meats, fruits and vegies and getting back into the exercise mode. will post more later, extremely busy at work today since its my first day back.

  23. Hello everyone, wow, the thread is so dead these days. I guess everyone is enjoying life to the fullest. I just got back from my cruise - wonderful time. No breaks or falls this time. lol. I know I gained, and I'm getting myself back on track - today! Exercise these days is nothing, but still struggling to get back and I am starting a new BFL program with my daughter so hopefully that will jump start my weightloss again. will check in later, so busy today at work being the first day back!
  24. Well, I won't reach my goal, tear drop tear drop tear drop :Angel_anim: I wish I would have done better, I leave tomorrow for my cruise, so when I get back, I will be ready to join another challenge? What challenge will it be? Maybe until Labor Day? Whatever it is, I'm ready for a challenge and I will make it this time, I will get another fill after my cruise so I will have better restriction. Everyone else, you have done great!
  25. He gave me "i think they are called" Adapex? 37.5 mg. I haven't went to the pharmacy to get the perscription filled yet. Thanks for the tip of staying off the slippery dance floor. I'll make sure I do that this time. lol
