  1. Okay, I'm doing it. No more excuses is working. I've been to the gym 6 times! 3/18 - cardio 3/19 - cardio 3/20 - cardio and strength training 3/21 - 1hr and 15 min doing 40 min of cardio and the rest strength training 3/22 - 35 min on recumbant bike 3/23 - Have only done 15 min so far of cardio, but plan on doing another 30 min before I leave work, then hitting the gym tonight! Eating has been right on! I had a bad night Tuesday (overdosed on girl scout cookies), but since then, I've done GREAT! Tonight is weigh in at Weight Watchers so we'll see how I've done! My scales show I'm down, but who knows what I will weigh wearing jeans and a sweater like I am today. I wish they had private rooms where I could just strip down naked - that always makes me go down a few pounds. I started tanning on Friday, got to get me a little color before my Cancun trip next month, I'm so white and pale looking. Got me a new haircut on Friday, cut about 3" off and I feel so much better, the hair looks so much healthier. Got my nails done on Friday too, I had a me day! My menu today: Bfast 1 cup of Fiber One Cereal - 3 pts 1 cup of skim milk - 2 pts 1 banana cut up - 2 pts Lunch 3 oz of chicken breast - baked - 3 pts asparagus 1/2 cup - 0 pts brocoli 1/2 cup - o pts few grape tomatoes - 0 pts FF salsa over my chicken - 0 pts Snacks 4 large strawberries - 1 pts 1 mandarian orange - 1 pt Dinner Turkey meatloaf - 4 pts 1/2 baked potatoe - 1 pt green beans - 0 pts WW ice cream bar - 1 pt 18 pts total - I get 21, but I lowered it down to 20 this week.
  2. Juno - how are you? When is your surgery? Hello to everyone else too! The past week has been going great for me. I almost called and made an appointment for a fill, but decided I would just stick this one out. I've been to the gym 6 days, tonights my weigh in at Weight Watchers, so I better lose!!!! According to my scales I'm down to 163 - lowest I have been EVER, in 19 years!!!!!! I havent been in the 150's - well, I can't even remember, I guess right after I got married. I weighed about 140 when I got married, then quickly put on 10 lbs - eating out all the time, honeymoon, etc. I remember getting to 155 about 4 months after we were married and I was horrified. But I pretty much stayed there until I got pregos with me son (about a year after we were married). Anyhow, my point is, its been so long since I've been this close to be healthy again. 155 is a healthy weight for me according to the BMI charts. Just to see "your healthy" is going to bring me to tears, I just can't wait! I'm only 8 lbs from being healthy, who would have ever thunk it? I'll check back later, how is everyone doing? Hows the reflux issues? Mine is so much better, haven't had it in quite some time.
  3. Because Monday is weigh in day and I want to lose!
  4. Patti - good for you with the dancing with your son. That sounds like fun exercise! Zumba is a little faced paced and I feel like a clown at times because most of the ladies know all steps, but I really don't care. I'm moving and sweating and having fun, so I like it. I really don't care that I can't do it exactly like some of the ladies who have the move down - they also have the flat bellies and can really move the hips like your supposed to, lol. But hey, the point is I'm moving even if I do look a little akward at times. Its not hard, its just a little fast when your trying to learn the movements, but it is fun.
  5. I've been banded over 2 years now and finally tired of gaining the same 5 to 10 lbs back and then losing then gaining, over the past year. So - because of that, I thought it was time to put some structure in my life so I joined WW 4 weeks ago. The first week I gained 4 lbs and I followed the program to a T, grrrr. Almost dropped out, but decided I need to stick with it for at least a month, the 2nd week, lost 3.6 lbs (almost a break even). The third week I lost 3 lbs, then last week lost 1.4 - making it 4 lbs loss in 4 weeks. I'll take it. I'm getting closer to goal, so I know its going to be harder. But the thing that is helping me is the accountability I have with WW. I'm using the ww program (point system) and using my band as a tool. WW is teaching me to eat bandster portions, yes, I'm still trying to figure that out after 2 years, but I think I am finally getting it. I don't think WW is for everyone, just like the band is not for everyone. However, its what I need at this time in my life, so I joined. To each their own as the old saying goes. I was hoping to have a WW group on here, so glad I found you guys.
  6. ahhhh, I just typed the same thing in my journal....not exactly but the same mind frame. I decided no more excuses for me, its time to just do it.
  7. I'm tired of all my excuses, ....too tire, my knee hurts, blah blah blah. Its time to JUST DO IT! Just get my butt to the gym and exercise. That is how I lost 70 lbs the first year, EXERCISE! So - last night, I had me a good dinner, turkey and 1/2 cup of stuffing (not so good - but only ate a little), and some green beans. I waiting for about an hour, and then got ready and headed to the gym. I only did about 35 min on the elliptical, As I was doing the elliptical I concentrated on how great I feel when I exercise, it really makes me feel and look good. So why do I blow it off? Anyhow, thats when I decided, no more, no more excuses, its time to just do it! Today, at 10, went down to our gym at work and did 15 min on the elliptical, just to get my matabolism going. I'm going to do it again at 3. Then tonight, going to an abs, abs, abs class at 6:15 to 6:30, doing ZUMBA class at 6:30 to 7:30. Its time to fake it until I make it. No more excuses. I want to reach my goal - by gawd, I am going to reach my goal. Its time to dig down deep and pull that determination out! Menu today Bfast 1 cup of fiber one ceral with 1 cup of skim milk 1/2 cup of diced peaches on my ceral 3/4 cup of protein shake - 10:30ish Lunch tossed salad with turkey chopped up, salsa for dressing Snack - later in afternoon - 1 apple Dinner 1 chicken taco filled with mixed greens - no cheese Exercise 1. 10 am - 15 min on elliptical 2. 3pm - 15 min on elliptical 3. 6:15 pm - abs class 4. 6:30 pm - Zumba class - latin dance aerobics. 5 - Maybe some lower body strength training, not sure if I can do with all the other cardio......we'll see.

  9. OH MY WORD. I've heard it all now.......
  10. I have very rare green zone days. But I have finally given up on my fills. I have had 14 fills and at 3.9cc in a 4 cc band. When they put me to 4cc, I close up. So, I just focus on eating right and it seems to be working. I do know that I can't eat as much as I could pre-band. But still get hungry about 2 hours later, but I grab an apple or Protein shake and it seems to be working. All and all, I am happy with my band and have no regrets.
  11. I saw it too, but I think it might be due to gall bladder surgery.....My gall bladder surgery was before my band and its in the same place as Cathys. IMO.
  12. Actually I have never had all of my fill taken out. The time that I got too much of a fill and couldn't swallow my saliva and ended up in the hospital for dehydration, they still only took out about 2 cc's. I was at 4 cc, they dropped me down to a 2cc. I was really swollen from PBing my saliva all night and the 2 cc's seemed like good restriction for about a week, but then I was wide open. I went back about 3 or 4 weeks later and they just filled me up to 3.8 cc's I believe. Well, I think its a good program. It teaches me to eat the way a bandster should eat. I dont like the slowness of it, but hey, at least I'm not bouncing the same 5 or 10 lbs that I've been doing over the last year. So, it seems like I pretty much stay down. I'm hoping to lose 2 lbs this week since I'm really trying - or at least thats my goal - I want to average that 1 lb a week and so far I've been doing it. :sneaky: Let me know if you have any questions and I would be happy to answer them.
  13. ....because I'm going to Cancun next month, I want to look good in my bathing suit!:sneaky:
  14. If I was Tara I would have smacked the lady that ate the cookie. grrrrrr. She was so close to winning the 10K!!!! She inspires me, if a 200 lb chick can run 13 miles, why the heck can't I? lol. I'm ready for them to break the teams up and go at it individually.
  15. Ahhh, found this thread and its an interesting thread at that. I love the Biggest Loser! I've been watching it since it very first came on, the first season. I agree, the dad needs to go. It is a game, along with weightloss, and he's not contributing with the game and barely weightloss. I'm trying to remember, but didn't he have gastric bypass? I'm hoping some plastic surgeon will see him on BL and offer to give him some surgery to reduce the hanging skin. Hey, it could happen....It happend to Kate Goselin on John and Kate plus 8, she showed her belly and then got a free tummy tuck. Wonder if that would work for me if I show my belly? lol. Tara - she's the bomb! Love her. Bob - grow a pair of balls, and Jillian, chill a little but work their butts off! Those are my thoughts.....Can't wait for tonights show!

I went to my WW meeting last night and didn't lose anything. The good news, I didn't gain anything either. I went over my points for the week and I did bad for three days in a row. So I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't gain anything, and so happy about it too. This week is going to be better! I'm already down a bit according to my scales. This week, I'm focussing on exercise! Oh - its on this week! I'm going to kick some butt in the exercise department! Oh yes, next week, I can't wait to step on the scales because I'm going to see a 2 lb loss. Thats right, 2 lbs! Me and the scale, we are going head to head and I'm going to win! Its on baby! Wt - my scales, naked in the am 164.9 WW scales - fully clothed in the afternoon - 167.6

  18. Okay, Weight Watchers meeting last night, DIDN'T LOSE 1 ounce! Am I mad? NO. I went out to eat Friday night with another couple, then we went to a club to socialize a bit. I haven't drank in awhile, my DH doesn't drink at all, so he was our driver. I ended up drinking 2 drinks and then we got crazy and had a shot of tequila. ouch. I paid for it the next day! I was so lathargic the next day and then ate all the bad stuff AGAIN. So then Sunday rolls around, I have a big Turkey dinner for a group of friends at my house, lots of dressing, mashed potatoes, and who could forget dessert. Pumpkin cheesecake, double chocolate chip cookies, need I say more? Well, its not like I ate a lot, however, I did try it all. So, I was not surprised I didn't lose weight this week. However, I was pleasantly surprises I didnt gain weight. I was happy to stay exactly the same. Next week will be better! I weighed this morning and already dropped another pound. My scales showed 164. I really like the accountability of gong to the WW meetings and weighing in each week. It keeps me honest. I also have a friend that joined and she goes to the Monday night meetings with me, so it also motivates me to have a buddy. Well, I better get to work. I will check in later. Hope everyone is doing great!
  19. So glad the unfill is making you feel better! Getting on track with eating is the hard part. I tell you, joining Weight Watchers has really helped me do that. You can eat anything, however, you just eat in moderation. Thats the one thing I enjoy about the WW program. Its taught me to eat like a bandster should. Or I guess I should say, its teaching me. I am not there yet, but learning. After 2 years, still trying to learn to eat like a bandster, can you believe it? I have no regrets either about the band, although the sleeve sounds better now that I've heard about it. I am still happy I did something about my weight. The band might not be as fast as I wanted it to go, but I am moving downward and I am not moving upward like I have done so many times in the past. I don't worry about going back to the 240's ever again! I feel like I need another fill, however, I know it will make me have bad reflux and with my barrets esophagus, I just cant afford that. So, I'm going to make this fill I have work. I'm just trying to eat the WW way, which is small protions. Its the way I need to eat anyway. I just have to stay away from the chocolate!!!!!!
  20. Glad to see you pop in! You have been away forever! So sorry to hear about your pains and in the hospital. I'm sure thats not easy especially with a new baby too. I've had my gallbladder out about 5 years ago, so I don't have to worry about that. I also had ulcers in my esophagus, but they are better now. I find eating spicey food irritates them. I love my spicey food too! Ouch, kidney stones! I've never had them but people who I know have had them and they say it is horrible pain. I hope you pass them soon! Did they tell you what causes kidney stones?
  21. I wish I would have had the sleeve too. I have a friend who had it done too, its been 1 year. The thing I like about the sleeve is it does everything the band is supposed to do, except you don't have to get fills. I am happy that I had something done, I sill love my band, I'm thinner than I have been in 18 years, off my diabetic medication, and look better than I did in my 30's. But, the sleeve sounds like a perfect tool. But oh well, I have the band and I will just work with what I got.... There are several on here that have moved from the band to the sleeve and are happy with it. I know my insurance doesn't cover the sleeve, and it did cover the band. I think as time goes on, they will start covering the sleeve. My brother is considering the sleeve, but he will be cash pay.
  22. Okay, now I'm foaming out the mouth! Can't wait to go. Thanks for sharring the link. I've been looking at it all day today!
  23. Sula, ouch it is cold where your at! We had 80 degrees on Monday, and Tuesday it started getting colder. This morning it was 29, but with winsheild factor, feels like 19 degrees. I'm freezing at this temp, I would really be cold at below zero!!!!! Regarding your saline being taken out, I don't really think it is a slip, if it was, I've heard severe vomiting all the time. It could be a tiny slip, but usually taking all the fluid out will correct that. The pain might be some irritation of the Esophagus. When I had my band completely close up on me, when I couldn't even swallow saliva and ended up in the hospital, they took some of the saline out, and I remember having pain the next day. It was right in my chest area, seems like it lasted a few days. My doc said it was irritated from all the PBing I did. Try to be calm, and hopefully everything will work out and be just fine.
  24. Because my goal is within reach, staying on plan will get me to goal.
  25. Okay, I knew something must be going on with TracyKS, she was only online a short time to say she was back at work. NOthing since. So someone give us details, is she okay? Worried about her!
