Dr. Aceves patient's...HELP!
Hey Dalisgirl, you are very brave to tell your family. It's the one obsticle I couldn't overcome. Thankfully they live in another state and don't have to know. They would have done the very same thing your mother did.... and then made me feel guilty for putting them to the trouble. It comes from love and concern.... but we're grown ups, right. Hang in there.... we know what we're doing. Stacey

how am i going to feel
I am scheduled for my sleeve on the 21st and have a question about hunger. I know I wont be hungary and my stomach will be tiny.... but... even when my stomach isn't hungery I get shaky and irritable, sometimes even paniky with low blood sugar (not clinicaly low, just uncomfortable). Will I feel like this all the time because I'm not getting enough food to my brain? I'm especially worried about tht post op time when I'm on liquids. thanks for your thoughts stacey

panties in the OR.
Hello all. I have a question for the nurses out there. I saw a post (can't remember where) in which a very helpful person was saying to bring extra panties because yours will get messed up in the OR. If your wearing panties in the OR does that mean it's not sterile. I would have thought that you just wore a gown. I have no medical background... just wondering. thanks Stacey

Why? ? ?
Thanks PNW... its hard not to get freaked out. Are there any independant stat keepers on complications etc. I'm not worried about the accomidations... I'm a good travler. It's more infections I worry about. Are there any stats anywhere on these rates? I don't have the money for post op complications... I'm sure my insurance will not cover such costs. thanks Stacey

Does weight loss vary for lower BMI?
well done everyone!!! I am a BMI 31 and am getting surgery in late june. I hope to lose slow for the sake of my skin and general health. I need to loose 60lbs. What happens when the 60 is gone..... will your body stop loosing on its own or is it possible to loose too much weight and become unhealthy in the opposite direction? any thoughts thanks Stacey

wish you hadn't done it?
WOW.... thanks to all.... I can feel my anxiety getting lower as I read. I know I need to do this. I too have tried everything known to man. I know everytime I leave my house and feel my "fat shame" that this is what I need to do for myself. It's just a little scary. Thanks Stacey

wish you hadn't done it?
Hello, I am getting sleeved on the 28th of june. I am soooo excited that I am going to get a new life. Then, I am terrified. They are taking part of my stomach!!! its irreversable!!!! what if I have complications!!!! I'm doing it in Mexico as self pay.... am I just negating my insurance policy in the US.... will I ever be able to be fully covered again!!!!! Then.... I'm excited about my new life once more. I have been having nightmares about people cutting out my stomach. Everyone on this site seems so pleased with the sleeve. Has anyone had a bad experience or wish they hadn't done it? Would you guys do it again? I'm not tryin to freak myself out.... I just want all the info. Thanks Stacey
-
new to this -- band or sleeve????
I, like you, was going to get the band. I liked the idea that it was reversable and I was not altering my body. I did a lot of research and I now I think the sleeve is the way to go. I don't have thousands to spend on aftercare and adjustments, as I'm self pay, plus I'm looking for a permanent solution. I've goten used to the irreversability idea.... I'm happy with my decision... although I am having vivid nightmares about people cutting out my stocach. I just want to get it done before the anxiety kills me. Good luck making the right choice for you Stacey
